El Morro Rest Area

Will stop again. Felt safe.  

Even though signs say "NO OVERNITE PARKING", the state police will not bother you as long as you only stay one night and park away ftom the building.

Great to walk on grass without side stepping dog poop. Our very skittish rescue dog was not afraid of going in the designated area.

Traveling from south Texas,  this was the first green grass our dogs have seen in months, but all the signs say "No Dogs on Lawn".  The posted Dog Walk area is dirt and overgrown weeds.
Restrooms were clean.

Nice pull-thru spots for RV’s and trucks, green spaces, covered picnic tables, even my husband wouldn’t use the restroom because it was disgusting.

No overnight parking signs all over the rest area

Nice rest stop. Clean rest rooms. Long parking spaces for RVs. Lush greenery. Shaded picnic tables.

Lost my grandmother's pendant. It's small ( size of dime ), square, gold, w / CZ in middle. Not worth much $ but means the world to me. Lost in grass on N side of the restrooms by trees & large rocks. 

Picked up our baby & she snapped my necklace...sent it flying. Searched for hours, drove to Raton bought a metal detector, searched more, drove hours to get back two more days to look....Not giving up hope.
