Lathrop State Park

We stayed overnight in Pinon Campground pullthru site 60. Site 48 has awesome views but you will get the afternoon sun. We hiked about 1/3 of Hogback Trail - it’s a rocky ridge you need to be sure-footed. Very clean restrooms and showers (takes quarters but have change machine). We would love to stay longer another time and check out the lake and paved trail all the way around it. 

Wished we had booked 2 nights. Everything was gorgeous. Great place to ride bikes and hike. Electric only site 93 pull through.

Appears to be the only site in loop A that is not level. We had to reverse through the pull through to get it close to level.

Electric hookup/ asphalt pad. Bathrooms/ showers were not used although we wanted to use them. Appeared to be 1950s vintage.

Quiet night. Price was $39 for site plus $10 usage fee.

We did a water tank fill and dumped tanks on way out.  Excellent station setup and can be used on way in or out.

We were hoping to get further up the road but the wind and rain didn’t cooperate. Nice campground but a little overpriced 

Stayed one night at this park with our 40’ fifth wheel.  No water at the electrical sites, had to use the water fill station.  Welcome center staff was could have been more welcoming.  On top of the daily rate, they added a $10.00 daily park usage fee.

I stayed one night in Oct 2021 in Pinion Campground, Site 68 in a 30' class A. I could never get my levelers to level without raising driver rear dually off the ground due to sloping pull thru, so I slept with slides in. Didn't need heat. Other than that tidbit, it was a nice campground and I'd stay there again. Just not on Site 68. 😁

We stayed for one night, pinion loop site 37. Nice scenery. There is a lake for swimming and a nice 2 mile hike we did in am before leaving that takes you up on a cliff ridge. Used showers - good. Electric only but many nice paved, pull through sites.

Needed an overnight stop after visit to Great Sand Dunes NP.  CG there was full (and very small, close sites!), so had enough time to make it here.  Price seemed OK, UNTIL they tack on a park access pass for another $8.  Electric only site - but it was cool/rainy so actually ran electric heat.  Water spigots around to fill tank and dump station if needed. Beautiful mountain views.  Convenient, level pull-thru site.

We stayed at Lathrop for 3 days and loved it! Great views, clean park. Showers are timed so bring some quarters, but $1.25 will get you 10 minutes, which is more than enough. 

A beautiful park with nice big pull through sites.  Picnic table and fire pit.  Down side is that there is only electric at each site.  Very quiet and the sky is magnificent at night.  Great place to camp depending on how long you can go without water and sewer.

5 stars all the way around! Bring quarters for the showers, $1.25 for 10 minutes. Change machine in front will only accept $1.00 bills.
 

Lovely park. Sites are easy access and pretty level.
Staff is wonderful? Can't say enough.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay while visiting Great Sands National Park.  

Pull through sites are set up a little weirdly, but pretty and quiet

This campground has it all;  mountain views, hiking and biking trails, fishing, and easy access. Both back-in and pull-through sites, paved and pretty level. Only negatives were pay showers and distant traffic noise. Seems to me you shouldn't have to pay extra to take a shower when fees are this high ($21 & park fee of $7). Stayed here in a TT.

Staff are great park maintained well. . Will be back
