Magnolia City Park Campground

We arrived here on Sunday night.
They have 9 spaces with 6 being fhu.
Don't know about size restrictions, because we have a 30' trailer with a 20' truck and fit fine without unhooking.
There is a RR nearby but it is far enough away to not bother us .
Nice quiet place.

No complaints.  Had everything it said it did and slept well.

Great stay easy on off highway.

Nice for the price. Hard to fit big rigs due to low hanging branches. Camper pads are dirt with some ruts. Ground asphalt piled up nearby. Assuming that will become Camper pads once in place. Full hook up including sewer for the price. One power box is all of 80 foot from campsite. Water is shared. Nice place for quick over night off interstate 90. October fall is here grass has not been mowed. We have a cardinal on the branches behind the camper flying into our window. Nice quiet place.

This is a small campground of about 10 spots.  There were only a couple available when we parked.  Full hookups for $15 and a dump station for $5 if that is all you need. You can't beat the price for full hookups.  It is very peaceful and quiet.  The spots are close to each other so some campers may not like that but it didn't bother us. The town only has 222 residents. We went about 6 miles to Luverne to do laundry and get some groceries.  There is a city park across from it for the kids to play at. We would stay here again.

Not for big campers! I’m giving it one star because of the ability to dump for 5$… didn’t stay because we are 41ft..should not park anything over 20ft.. only about 10 sites.

Nice little park. Nothing fancy. Clean shower and toilet. Helpful and friendly.

They didn’t open until May but kindly allowed us to stay. We had electric no water since it wasn’t turned on yet. Sewer available but didn’t need it. 

Lovely green area with many trees beside a cornfield. The full hookups are great for that price. Thankfully I had an extra long water hose, used most of my electric cable, and maneuvered my motorhome to reach the sewer. I was the only camper and enjoyed the peacefulness. The clean restroom was for one person and there's also a picnic pavilion in the playground area. Each campsite has a picnic table. I would have stayed longer if the weather had been more pleasant. 

We were driving back on I90 across South Dakota, it was around 95-100 degrees the whole day and we were towing our camper. The truck was running hard the whole day and we wanted to give it a rest. We were burning tranny fluid and pushing its limits. This campground was a  perfect place to pull over and give it a rest. Spacious park for the kids. Water, power, sewage. We were able to pull in, plug in and turn on the AC. Let the truck cool down for a night and the family as well!

Nice camp at $10. 50, 30, 15 amp hookup may not be close to you. One unisex combo toilet and shower. No reservations. Pay at the box. Quiet. 

Prior reviews are correct. Would only add that several sites share 1 power pedestal.  If your lucky enough to get the site right next to it fine, otherwise you'll need a really long power cord. When we were there,  there were 3 Rvs that looked to be staying long term and had 2 of the 4 close spots to the power.  We only stayed 1 night with no issues. Put our $10 in an envelope in the box and went on our way. 

We stayed 3 nights beginning Sept 13th, 2018.  We enjoyed our time there, and especially enjoyed seeing the monarchs congregating on the line of trees at the back of the campgrounds.  There's a line of willows and another line of some other tree that they were hanging from in bunches.  Very beautiful nature in action.  I added pictures. 

This little campground is somewhat hard to rate, as it depends on what is most important to you: a cheap overnight stay with the bonus of electricity, water, and sewer, or if your priority is spacious, paved sites, manicured lawns, etc.

This campground is basic. There are only about eight to ten sites.  The sites are level, but are close together, are sandy dirt with some gravel, the tent area ( if you can call it that) had long grass and deep ruts, and there is one, unisex bathroom that is a combination shower and restroom. Personally, I would  give it five stars just based on having a dirt-cheap, safe place to pull over for a few days and having anything more than electricity and a clean restroom  is just a huge bonus. I have given it a 4 star rating  overall  because it is pretty basic.

We stayed three nights around the second week of September, taking the opportunity to visit the nice museum's and restaurants in nearby LuVerne, MN, and to Sioux Falls, SD (about 1/2 hour away) for sightseeing. There was another motorhome there the whole time, and two or three stopped for just a night. 

The lone restroom was immaculate the whole time. The park has several nice, large pieces of playground equipment, a horseshoe area, tennis court, and picnic shelter.  Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table. 

We didn't hook up to anything other than electricity, but we filled up our water tank and used the free dump station. Each site does have a water spigot and sewer hookup.

The little town only has 222 people, and has one small cafe (with good food) that is open for breakfast and lunch M-F. The owner told us that the campground frequently fills up in the busy summer travel season. She said she had never heard of any theft or other crimes against campers.

The campground costs a very cheap $10 per night. There is a plastic box with self serve pay envelopes next to the pop machine/ dump site area at the park entrance. You put your payment in the envelope,  fill out your car info, and place the envelope into a locked box. No campground host is on site.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The campground was quiet in September, and we got a site that was shaded and backed onto a soybean field, so we had plenty of privacy. Most of the remaining sites have less shade and are closer together. Those sites back onto a private residence's back yard.

The money we saved on the campsite allowed us to spend more on restaurants and other area attractions.
