James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park

Awesome little state park campground.   Sites are large and well spaced.  Peace and quiet!  We were in 12, a pull through,  with forest all around.   W/E only with a dump station.   Lakes were nice, trails were good.  Lots of birds and deer around.

Overnight stay. Very clean, well maintained, level sites. 

Definitely enter from north side.  We had site 18, it was level & had a grassy area next to it.  Was near bathroom but wasn't a problem.   Was there on a week day so not too busy.  Would definitely stay again! 

Nice park with about 25 sites. Nice hiking trails and clean restrooms. Be aware that if you enter the park from the south, there are NO signs directing you where to go. Found the campground by luck. Also site 21 is not for longer RVs unless you want to jack knife your trailer.

We had extra space to add a tent and a canopy to our site. It's a quiet place to stay. Places to hike. 

This is a small (<30 Sites) Campground with a mixture of pull through and back-in sites. They are gravel surrounded by wood, off asphalt access roads, and most are long enough for what you may have. The convenient hookups (water & electric) are modern, convenient, and functioned properly. Heavily wooded, so not much chance for satellite, no OTA stations, and the Verizon cell service is good. The bathroom and shower was clean with plenty of hot water.

Wonderful gem park. About 24 sites. Very well kept and wooded. The hosts were very pleasant. We are in a Class A with a flat tow Jeep. DEFINITELY avoid Marble Rd when entering this park use Sloppy Floyd Road.

Nice state park, 30 amp only, a little pricey ($30) as Georgia gives seniors only a 20% discount, opposed to the 50% in other states, nice sites, most are level but a little tight for a 40' Wanderlodge, follow the signs, not your GPS, Silver ridge road is not the way, it becomes a one lane road that dead ends, I had to back up a 40' coach over a mile because of my G-pos.

This is a small state park (500 acres), but the campsites are well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful.  There are two lovely electric motor only lakes, both with ramps and docks.  The upper lake has a bridge all the way across the lake.  Also there are several hiking trails.  We'll worth the trip.
