Lewis & Clark State Park

Spacious sites. Nice bathrooms. Just electric at site. Water and dump station available in park. 

This is a beautiful park.   Had fun taking pics  of flowers and lily pads …. We are almost only ones here 

We’ve been here multiple times this year.  It’s a nice level campground with nice facilities.   The restrooms are nice and clean.  We didn’t use the showers but they looked well taken care of.   This lake is a gem.  There is fishing opportunities for a number of species.   Used a lot for waterskiing, jet skiing and kayaking too.  There is a beach area for swimming.  Very nice visitors center with all things Lewis and Clark.  Even a keelboat so you can see what they had when they explored the area.   Most sites are electric only but there are sites that are full hookup.  They have quite a few that aren’t useable due to past flooding.  When they get those back in use it will help with availability.  Very nice playground for kids and basketball hoops.  
Very close to town with a nice grocery store.  Also a Bomgaars which has a wide variety of things you may need from tools, camping accessories,home items and many more.  I also needed something from their pharmacy (Stangel Pharmacy) and let me tell you what a great place.  I could have spent a lot of time but hubby was waiting in the truck.   Overall though it’s a great campground.   Oh and there’s a casino not far away too if you are so inclined. — at Lewis and Clark State Park (Iowa).

We were getting practice with our new rig so we decided to try Lewis and Clark.   They have a limited number of walk in sites and part of those are full hookup.  We went in on a Sunday and were able too get one that opened up.  For $19 a night for full hookups it’s a great deal.  There are a lot of water activities here. We enjoyed checking out the frogs near the lily pads.  Beware there are bugs in the grass so put on the spray.  People were coming through most of the week on their way through the area.  The facilities are great.  

Beautiful quiet shaded sites on the water with nice breezes and clean modern bathhouse. Would gladly stay here again.

Very well taken care of. Grade shade trees. Nice access to the water. Museum. 

Its on a lake with a place to drop in your water vehicle and really beautiful scenery. Maybe its because its the week of the fourth of July but I haven't seen anyone that works here in any facility so I could never pay for the site. One of the other campers said this lot is open and paid for but the people that paid for the spot will be coming back tomorrow so I set up my tent in an rv spot. I really just needed a place to sleep on my way from coast to coast on a motorcycle.

Well kept park. Showers and rest rooms are modern and clean. Campsite are well spaced apart. Only negative is the sound of Interstate 29 but it is greatly out weighed by all the positives of the park. Camp out here in Class C motor home.
