Browns Lake State Park

Great ! Clean bathrooms ! No Wi-Fi . Could get TV reception good . 
They only take cash or check $30. Would stay again! 

What a beautiful small campground. This campground is clean well maintained with the view of a lake Small however it is a diamond in the rough. $30 for full hook ups great for an overnight stop however it is first come first serve. We got here at about 3:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday, and the park literally had five campers. Most of the park was empty. A great spot for overnight or even the weekend.

Nice and quiet with level parking. The only draw back is first come, no reservations. Self service only. The park was only about 1/3 full on a Tuesday. I would stay here Gain.

Beautiful little county park well worth your time. Beautiful lake. The park just renovated the campground, all sites are now full hook up. Well kept bath house that was rebuilt several years ago and now it is rated to withstand tornado strength winds. Quiet and peaceful due to the time of year but worth it.

Great Campsite at a great price. The showers and bathrooms as well as the campground itself are clean and well maintained. 

Lovely hidden gem! Very clean, well maintained small RV park next to a lake. Campsites 8, 9, and 10 are full hookup directly on the lake. It is first come first serve, 20 bucks a night. Very clean bathrooms and showers, including an accessible bathroom and shower. We have Verizon and had decent signal for logging i to virtual school. They also provide free wifi and that signal was also strong. No swimming in the lake, but you can boat. Wonderful playground if you have kids, amd there are basketball hoops at the far end, too. Just a mile off the interstate. Very quiet.

Too bad all state parks can't be like this. Perfect stay.

Great little Park. Very quiet this late in the season. Well maintained.

Stayed for a quick stop over on our way to South Dakota. Water and electric.  Family friendly, rangers highly visible, free WIFI and very quiet at night. It was a little smokey with all the campfires. Didn't use the provided shower or bathroom facilities. Would stay again.

Very nice, well kept park. Showers and baths very clean. WiFi at a state park? Yes, this is the first state park we have been to that has free internet access. Beautiful park. Came in on a Friday and got a spot on the lake, very unusual. Water at site and 50 amp service. And to the person who did not want to obey the "dog" rules, go find another park. "Go mow something?" It's people like you that makes a rangers job stressful. 

I was pleasantly surprised when I called and the ranger said that they had spaces on a Saturday.

It's an easy 15 minute drive south of Sioux City  and easy to find. It was full of trailers, boats, jet skis, kids, and bicycles. I parked next to the host which put me under a great big shade tree. He came out and helped me move the picnic table...nice.

On Sunday, 95% of the campers left and there were only a few of us left. There was a tornado warning at 3am and everyone ran to the storm shelter. It passed.

On Monday I was the only one left. I took my dogs to the mowed field behind the park to play soccer. A park maintenance man dropped what he was doing and drove clear across the entire property to tell me to put my dogs on a leash.

I explained that they are voice commanded dogs (non-threatening Terriers) and that I waited until everyone left to get their exercise in. He said it didn't matter...put them on a leash. But there is no one around...everyone is gone!! Doesn't matter, put them on a leash. 

Really? Go mow something.

The sites are partial hookup, level gravel, and there are water wells close to each site. Plenty of shade trees, grass, and things to do (on a leash). 

Other than the dog deputy, everything about this park was just fine and it was worth the drive.
