Schildberg Recreation area

Great find! Clean, neat, spacious sites, super camp host! Pavilion, walking path, playground.  Would definitely stay here again. 

Big campground, Gravel driveway and cs, large cs, clean br, u share the water w neighbor, great pavilion. Good for overnight or a couple of days 

This could be a nice city park campground except that it is full of permanent trailers for workers. Big work trucks, 2 to 3 vehicles in front of every trailer. I don't know how we even got a reservation for 2 nights to visit family. The men's bathroom was really bad, door knob gone off main door, dirty tp on the floor bottles in the shower. Saturday night loud party that went on till 10:45 I think it ended because it started to rain.
Had to thread our way to the RV around trucks almost blocking the road. Vehicles parked on the grass 

What a great find. The sites are gravel but extremely level. Full hookups and a very nice clean bathroom facility. The price is now $25 per night but well worth it. The park is clean and no junk rigs to be seen. The only negative is that every two sites share the same water faucet. There is plenty of water pressure and a Y valve is attached to the faucet. 

Small, clean, full hookups, showers clean, everything positive except for the two dogs running loose. Nice walking paths.

This is a first come first serve park - $19 put your money in an envelope, and drop it in the compartment.  

When I called in the spring looking for a reservation, the young man I spoke  with said he had been there for several years, and they had never been full.  When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, I was initially happy to get the last available site.  It seems the place is occupied by folks that work on a local pipeline, and even though the rules say no one can stay longer than two weeks, it is likely that this is not the case.  The place feels more like a third world encampment than a municipal park, there are RVs that may have seen better days, and some that would not be easily moved. The debris surrounding the RVs was unsettling, and it is clear the grounds have not seen a rake in months.

That said, the mostly level gravel sites are off gravel roads.  The modern hookups were convenient and functioned properly.  No WiFi, no cable TV, but plenty of over the air stations, and a big sky for satellite.  Verizon cell service was good.  Not the worst place to be, but not someplace I would choose to spend more than one night.

My wife and I spent a few nights here. It is quiet and very relaxing. Only about a block away from the train tracks, but even so didn't really notice the trains at all. Highly recommend this park!!!
