Shelby Country Inn & RV Park

This park has its problems and the owner knows it.  When you see a sign that says don’t steal the toilet paper or it won’t be put out about says it all.  But it was okay for an overnight and was convenient to I80.

You’re told find a spot once you pay. Good luck finding water and electric working on the same spot. Unfortunately stayed here twice out of desperation. 

The manager is nice. Many long term residents, broken down rvs, campers that appear to have been here a long time. Weeds need cutting.  Ants everywhere. Needed a place to stay for a week. Pics looked nice but of course like many other Rv parks, never depicted in present state. 

This is a long-term park. Looks like they have added pedestals around the outer road so maybe that's why the website said they have available sites today. We did not stay at this park 

This a very basic park. Just right for a one night stay. I can see were it would be a muddy mess after a rain. But it was dry on our night.

This one was the roughest one on the trip.
You have to pull in facing the campground - next to the old gas station pumps.  Don't pull into office/small hotel area. No turn around.  The lady at the front desk (lives in the RV park) was one of the nicest people that we met on the trip.  I loved talking with her about our families and she was so helpful.  You have to call the number of the office door and she will come right over.  
Getting into the lot was ROUGH.  Pot holes everywhere.  It was a rough drive getting into our site.  Which basically they say - go pick one (except these numbers due to site malfunctions).
 Camper sites and units  were a little rough  but all the people were so nice.  We walked around during the evening and socialized.  
Our site - had ant mounds; daughter had her first encounter of biting ants.  I used the entire can of ant spray and half container of the ant powder that I keep in the rig basement - to make sure that we didn't get any in the rig.
The water valve was locked and they had to come unlock it for you to hook up.  They didn't have enough keys to had them out at check in - you had to wait for a little while to finish hooking up - but the aggravation was that we couldn't disconnect and leave until they came over the next morning to unlock us.
The DQ beside the hotel is closed.  We went across the street to the gas station (big red barn) and ate at the little deli in there.  Everything was cooked to order (so they kept apologizing for the wait) but it was worth it.  Everything we had was fantastic:  omlette; club sandwich; egg rolls or something like whatever was amazing and one of the best items;  buffalo burger.  All great.
Bathhouse - it was in the large metal building at the back of the campground.  The toilet stall doors were shower curtains. BUT this was sparkling clean and pristine - regardless of how tired it looked.  Everything was spotless and smelled freshly disinfected. 
BUT - I would find an alternate stop if I traveled this route again.

Basically this park is a gravel lot with overgrown weeds. Lots of pot holes and muddy when raining. Seems like most of the folks here are permanent residents. Spaces are tight. It’s fine for a quick stop off the interstate to sleep, but that is it. The folks were very nice, but it is obvious that the RV park does not get any attention other than to show people to their site.

Long term guests park in what should be open spaces.  They don't clean up poop, and are generally very messy.  Management obviously doesn't care.

We stayed one night. Fortunately I read the reviews that said to park across from the office. Either walk around or over the pretty good sized lawn. Not easy for those of us who are physically challenged. They don’t take reservations, so you take your chances. There was plenty of room when we stopped, though. The woman who checked us in was nice enough, but there aren’t assigned spaces, you drive through and pick one. Got to our site and the one next to us had a dog dish with old spaghetti and meatballs in it, along with some junk that maybe the last guy used to put his leveling jacks on. (Tells me they don’t clean up or even look at the rv park occasionally) Grass in between gravel was high, some spaces were mud traps. I might use this park again for an overnight we, but not any more than that. 

Pretty basic campground, no trees. Right off interstate so easy to get to. (Park at Shell station do not pull into Inn no way out!) Interstate noise was there but not too awful. Showers need a good cleaning and some upgrade for a little privacy while showering. 

No trees, pull thru spots on dirt/gravel. Not a bad place to stay as long as you don’t have high expectations. It’s just fine for us!

Certainly not a family vacation destination. But for just pulling off I-80 for the night - not bad at all. Sites are all grass with gravel roadway. Super friendly and accommodating front desk. Park was 80% full on a Saturday night in September. But don’t call for a reservation because they don’t take any. FCFS. A couple of coffee shops, convenience store and fuel nearby. Loves and a MdDonalds just across the Interstate. If you want water you’ll get a “turn on” key atvthe desk - returnable before you leave. Ours required a lot of upmh to turn it on but we made it work. Hint: DON’T pull up to the office in a big rig or toad cause there’s no road into the park and limited room to turn around. Pull into the Shell station and walk over to the office (in the motel) to check in. Cindy is “the best.”

Spotty WiFi, the area has limited phone with att. No shade. But sites fairly level, not next to each other, can choose on site.  Most surprising, after 5 inch rain one nite, our site was only damp. No standing water, except small puddle on entry. Not much to do here, but we had relatives to visit. Easy on off interstate.  Restaurant across road was great too.

It’s okay for overnight, but we kept tripping 50 amp circuit breaker with 3a/c running, could only run 2 with water heater off. Water pressure was so low we went back to our tank. Also water is locked and you need a special key to turn on/off at each site. $37.50 no discounts is pricey for what you get, but it is the only game around.  East bound off ramp has huge bump!

Just an open grass field with a gravel road running through it.  Hookups where okay but based on what it is the price should be about $25 a night.

No frills park near I80 in Iowa 30 miles from Omaho   Grounds were clean and neat. Great place for a one night stop. Traffic can be loud at times. Close the window and turn on the ac

Not much of a park but people who run it are real nice. Sites are pull through and full hookup. Good power and Verizon works good. Sites are narrow and grass and gravel Great for a one night stay.

Just stayed one night traveling from CA to IN. Registration is at the motel next door. Very nice staff. Gravel sites with grass between sites.  Very reasonable price $33 we would stay there again.  

We have stayed at this park several weeks for the last three summers.  It is a large park with many pull thrus and full hookups.  Bathrooms and showers are clean.  Park is on a barron hilltop with no shade.  There is easy access to fuel and restaurants.  Easy on-off I-80.  

Mostly level and good gravel interior roads. No trees to get in your way.
