Myre-Big Island State Park

25. Albert Lea, MN, Myer Big Lake State Park, May 29-31, Day 57-58 of 2 mon trip.  $34 plus $7/day car fee.   Site 7E.    Nice typical state park w great shade, gravel sites and quite large. Our site was perfect -lots room, level and close to the new bathhouse. Excellent private separate showers. Hiking, biking, with kayaks and canoes to rent. 

Not sure if I’d be driving a real big rig in here .
We are 55’ and struggled with access , had to leave our trailer in the parking area .
Apart from that I’d probably come back 

Very peaceful and nice park. Well kept and friendly staff. Clean facilities and nice trails.

Rustic campground on a lake.  Some sites have a view of the lake, electric only so you will need to fill up with water.  Other drawback is they charge a daily fee on top of the camping fee which causes  confusion and extra work for the customer.  why not just raise the camping fee to include the daily fee like many states do. 

Huge spaces, very quiet even on a weekend. You must pay a day use fee which is not something we're used to but the bathrooms were worth that for sure. Would highly recommend. 

Nice sites. Quite. Nice clean showers and bathrooms. 
Didn’t get to explore a whole lot, but definitely will be back as a layover in our travels. 

I just stayed overnight and it had rained the day of and night of so I did not get to explore the park.  The campgrounds and facilities were nice, spaci g pf camp sites were adequate, no complaints overall!  I would visit the area and campgrounds again for a more thoughtful review.

Very clean washrooms and showers!  Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff.
