Clear Lake State Park

Hardly a level site in the park. We moved three times trying to find one we could get level on. Luckily it was late in the season and the park was mostly empty. All the bathroom/shower facilities were closed for the season so I can't rate them. The park was clean, but it looked like there hadn't been any grounds maintenance since Labor Day. This is a small state park with not much to do. This was just a stop-over spot for us, so no big deal.

What a lovely surprise this was! The ranger was so helpful getting us to a full hookups site and showing us how to register, etc. We only stayed one night because of schedule, but easily could have stayed a week. Very tranquil, clean, hookup were easy to do. We have a 25' motor home, so had no problems. 

Stopped overnight on our way to Kansas. Beautiful campground,, clean bathrooms and showers. Great beach on a nice lake. Will stay again!

Overall it’s a nice place for a night. 

Campground: 
Easy to find but quite large & hard to find correct site. We stayed at site 171, it was level. Our door is on the right of our rig so it was nice to face only trees. There is a home & highway on the other side of the trees but neither were bothersome. The water is by the bathhouse which isn’t too far away. Bathhouse was clean. 

State park: 
It’s really just a lake that is in a neighborhood with a small wooded area. The beach area is clean & has a nice sidewalk. 

I probably wouldn’t stay again only because there isn’t anything to do. 

There is a very nice dog park a few blocks away in clear lake. It was great!!

Nice place. Clean bath house. Roomy sites with shade. 

We had a reservation for site 31. Could not get level,  could not reach electric with standard cord. Camp hosts were not on site, they were "at work", weather was cold & rainy so we left our worthless but paid in advance site and paid $40 for a pull thru FHU site at a private campground 2 miles away. Never coming back here.

Pros:  Lots of mature trees and shade.  The campground is a short walk to the beach, which is very nice.  No lifeguards,  but we didn't see anyone swimming. The beach was clean.   The campground is also close to bars and restaurants.   Most were only doing take out.
Cons:  Many of the sites in the area we were in were not level and the electrical boxes were oddly placed and hard to reach.  We started at site 5 and moved to site 11.  My tip is to reserve in the sites with #'s greater than 100, if you want/need a level site.  We have a 31' class A.  

Just a OK place.  Full hookups are short and not very level. Had to unhook from trailer (33ft) and park truck crossway. Park host runs around with a lanyard ID and clipboard. Thought i was back in basic. Typical older park.

Great state park with excellent lake frontage and full hook ups. Lovely

Have variety of sites, w/wo electric and lake and golf, rates cheap $11-25

Trees and some fairly level sites. Some pull thrus to accommodate larger rigs. Plenty of room for trailers and tents. We stayed here in a motorhome.
