Trailside RV Park

Comfortable stay,  convenuent lication.

Great camp ground  for an overnight stay. A little noisy by the interstate and there was a dirt race track nearby that was loud. Races were over by 10ish and sounds were not a problem while sleeping. Would have gone to the races had we know sooner. Staff was extremely nice.

We had a one night stay .. THE STAFF AND CAMPERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY & HELPFUL.. OUR CAMPER DOOR WAS LOCKED !! THEY WERE ON THE BALL WITH HELP !!!!

Nice shade trees. Electrical issues while we were here. Our 120 did not work the entire time and the 30 amp power was off and on for a couple days while they worked on it.
Sites are very close and not level. We had to back out of our pull-thru site to get out. Several full time residents here. We were in the row right next to I-70 and the noise was constant 24/7. Had a hard time sleeping the entire time we were here. Laundry was nice...several washers and dryers $1.50 per load. Managment was very nice and let us use their extension chord to plug into a different site that had a working 120 outlet. Walmart & Aldi are pretty closecan pick up KC TV stations. WI-FI was very weak.

 Nous avons couchés à  ce camping  le 20 mai 2022. Le personnel est très  symphatique, les douches super propres refait à  neuf. Les sites sont pull- throus Le seul inconvénient  on y entend l'autoroute. On y fait le plein, on se vide et on repart. Le prix est très  abordable.

We had an issue that was resolved quickly and effectively, for which we were very thankful.

We enjoyed our stay here. There are new renovations since last year and the change in owners. They are working hard to improve everything. This park is convenient to chiefs games and our friends and family. We will stay again.

Sites are tight. Ours was level, but some are not as much. The bathhouse was in progress of renovation. Female side closed and male side open as unisex. Still a work in progress. Close to interstate. Not bad on/off from exit to park. The office staff was super nice. Close to Independence, so we got to visit Harry Truman home and beginning of Oregon/Santa Fe Trails. So that was cool. We are a large rig-38’ diesel. I don’t know that we would stay again if other options are available. But I don’t want to be negative. They are trying. 

The sites are small, and not much room in between, but the staff and pool are nice, and the rates cheap.

This place is a dump. 

It's basic. No frills. I guess they're under new owners, or management. The sites are decent sized. No privacy between sites. Half the park has full hookups, other half has none or has to have someone from the office come and empty your tanks. The sites are not level at all. You can hear people's dogs barking in their campers, all the time! Highway noise was constantly going, which wasn't terrible. Noise from the side road that the park is situated on was worse than the highway. The people that work in the office are rude & have ZERO customer service skills. While we were there, we had stuff stolen from us too. Never again!

This is a great stop over price is good 37.00 right off 70 , south side, gas station on the corner, easy off and on freeway , 
Sites are ok 

Workamped here for the 2019 season. 
Decent smaller park for it's age. Managers do the best they can and work hard to make the aging park good. Had no problems with electrical or water during our stay.  Good water pressure.

 Park is divided in half:  32 FHU sites and another roughly 32 Water/Electric Only sites. W/E sites are more spacious and level then the FHU sites. 


There is a dump station and propane sales (cylinders and ASME tanks) on site:
$10 to dump tanks for non-guests

Coin operated laundry, laundry quarters available in the office. 

Clean restrooms and showers. 

Campground store was quite limited to ice, paper products, sodas, candy bars and ice cream. 

We stayed about 2 weeks to be near family. Yes the campground is older so things are tighter for the new huge rigs but it was clean and the people are very friendly. The bathhouse is old but clean. This would not be a vacation spot for families who are looking for all the Resort type amenities. It is definitely a great stop off the interstate. We met many overnighters who have been coming here for years because of the convenience.  There is a hum of the interstate but nothing unbearable. The pool was very nice and kept clean. The town is building up around the area so many stores and restaurants are close by. We will stay here again.

Pros: Level, pea gravel pull through.  Good OTA TV and Verizon.  EZ on/off I-70. Close (20 miles) to Truman Library and home.
Cons: grounds unkept, sites close together, road noise, interior roads in need of repair, electrical pole required extension cord to reach back of trailer, no sewer at site, dump station hard to get to.
This is is an older campground designed for smaller rigs.  It is in need of an upgrade. The check in office was unappealing, didn't use bathroom or laundry.

We had a family member recommend this park to us for a two night stay.  Everything was well maintained, clean laundry and bath house, pleasant experience.  Met several other campers from our area, everyone seemed to be having a good stay. Would definitely come back again!

When we made our reservations for a three-night stay I was not advised we would be assigned a site with no sewer hookup. Despite the fact that they prominently advertise WiFi as an amenity, we were never able to connect our Apple devices...a problem that they claim lies with Apple and. It their network! (We've never had any trouble connecting our Apple devices to other networks.) The men's toilets have a bizarre and graphic five-step process for flushing to avoid clogging. Just fix the danged plumbing! The showers are tired looking, and the shower heads are anemic. The place has a shabby, seedy appearance, although the pool seems well maintained. The combination office/store (which is woefully understocked) makes a poor first impression. I find it hard to believe that this poorly managed and maintained RV Park meets Good Sam's standards. The road noise  from I-70 is awful. I gave this park two stars only because it does provide power and water. We are relatively new to RVing, but this is far and away the worst RV Park we have stayed at. We will never stay here again.

If you just need a place to park your wheels for a night it would be acceptable. It is right on the edge of the interstate so traffic noise is very loud. It has easy access to the highway. Also has a pool.
There are a lot of long term and essentially permanent campers that tend to junk up the place. It is open year round but if staying in the area during the spring-fall season I would recommend staying at Blue Springs lake or Lake Jacomo campground (run by Jackson County Parks and Rec) just a few more miles down the interstate. Far more secluded, cleaner, and a much better overall camping experience!

Roads inside the park are not too great.  We wanted to stay only one night, and were placed facing the interstate.  Heavy truck traffic all night.  No sewer hookup at the overbite area.  Brightly lit at night.  We won't stay there again.

Found this park to be okay for few day visit to area. Has lots of permanent residents living here but not a problem. Sites are tight but adequate . Many sites do not have sewer but they do provide free honey wagon several times a week. Probably stay again if passing thru again on day.

In all the years we have camped I have never had to answer so many questions just to spend a night! My drivers license was closely examined under a magnifying glass too. We are marking this one as "do not return" because the sites were too small and the turns were very sharp and close.

We stopped here for a single night. Askef for a pull thru so we would not have disconnect from truck. Good Sams showed the pull tru to be 75 ft. Truck and camper are 44 ft. We had to disconnect and turn truck sideways to park. Also Good Sams rated as a 9. The pull thru that we had was not level at all. Would not recommend.

Clean, kinda crowded but plenty of room to set up. Great place to get off the road for the night.
