Spook Cave & Campground

This was our first stay at Spook Cave Campground and we enjoyed it thoroughly.  We had zero cellular service but their WI-FI was strong due to the extreme number of antennas.  Nestled in a valley with beautiful cliffs, the waterfall was a great place to have morning coffee.  They have a well stocked store and the cave tours ($16) was awesome.  Crews cleaned the park daily, vacuuming up fall leaves and emptying fire pits.  Pads are rock and we leveled easily.  There's an active train running nearby but it didn't bother our sleeping.  Cabins are available for rent, even one that can hold nearly 20.  Already planning our next trip.

We stay here several times during the year.  Due to Covid-19, our plans had to change because of reopening.  We ended up being able to check in 2 weeks later.  We got site 109 which is right next to the waterfall.  The sites near the waterfall are beautiful because you can sit and listen to the water.  We met the new owners, who were very friendly along with all of the staff.  We would highly recommend a stay here and you should plan on a couple days.  It is very peaceful and relaxing.  We will be back.

Beautiful campground, good amenities, the staff was friendly and the campground hosts were awesome! Can't wait to make another trip there

We were heading home but taking our time traveling the Scenic Byway along the Mississippi when we saw a billboard ad for Spook Cave and Campground. It was intriguing enough to extend our trip by another night and we are glad we did.  The cave tour ($13/adult) was educational and unique - riding a boat through the cave. Highly recommend.  The site we had (#107) was along a creek that had a beautiful waterfall just yards upstream from us.  The camp wifi was strong which made up for very weak cell signal in the valley.  There was a lot to do which we didn't have time for, but I can safely say from my interactions with the staff that this is a fantastic campground for both adults and kids.  I can definitely see us returning.

Great.  Wonderful setting.  Clean.  Friendly. Had an emergency and gave a refund for the nights not used.   Trustworthy business.
