Sayre City Park

Good access, some sites unlevel and/or muddy.  We found several 30 amp receptacles bad.  Very quiet and was able to get a good nights sleep.

It is greatly appreciated the city of Sayre, OK has this park.  It is budget friendly and does have electric/water.  We stayed in #77 and there were the sticker things others reviewers mentioned, but for an overnight stay it was manageable.  We left early and found out the RV dump was locked, most likely due to its location along the roadway.  Our tanks weren't full so we left without emptying.  If you plan on dumping and leaving out of regular hours you may want to contact person listed at the dump site ahead of time. All in all this park is definitely worth the money!

Nice park wasn’t crowded when we arrived, there are quite a few grasspurs or some called them sandspurs we had to pull them off our shoes. Also there are some faulty power supplies be sure to check with your meter before hooking up. Otherwise not a bad place. 

$12. Easy to get to.  But the 40+ stickers I had to get out of my dogs fur and my fingers were not worth it for me. I saw in another review that there were stickers. But oh man. After 2 minutes outside we packed up and left. 

Couldn't stay, goat heads every square inch. Dog would have been covered in them after 30 seconds. 

There were prickles everywhere. Our poor dog was covered in them. The bathrooms were clean but shower did not look inviting. There was red mud everywhere which stuck to our shoes. It was accessible and cheap. 

Large pull throughs suitable for big rigs. (We are a small pop-up. ) About 5 big rigs there & a few small ones. Can't beat price of $12 for hookups. Women's 3 stall toilet & shower (a bit rough due to age) in typical cinderblock ball park-style w/playgrounds, etc. But...nice hot water, soap & paper towels!
Road noise a LOT less than Walmart, as is 2 mis from Interstate.  
Would stay again.

It just happened that the 50 amp outlet didn’t work at site 70. 30 amp worked fine. It was a great spot and the price was right. Bring the correct amount of cash. 

 $12 a night for hook ups, as you pull in, there’s a little cabin, like structure with Envelopes and all kinds of information. Cash or check inserted in the red iron ranger outside of a little hot.  I chose space 69, there’s a little bit of shade tree, but no picnic table. Every other site has one, all sites pull through and level.  AWESOME 

Great city park! Big rig friendly with pull thru and back in sites! $12 a night and only mins from I40. Water and 50 or 30 amp service with a dump station nearby. First come, first serve,  but the park was almost empty on Memorial Day. City has everything you will need and it's just 2 miles away.  Stayed in a 43' toy hauler. 

This city campground is a great overnight spot. Not far from I40, but for enough to be very quiet. Stayed in May of 2023 and there were only 4 other campers. Water and electricity for $12. What a deal. Long level pull through’s. First come first served. Self serve pay.

Stayed here one night with water and electric hook ups. Cute little place with plenty of spots as level as any other campground we’ve been in. Water pressure was great and the hot shower was amazing! Thank you City of Sayre!!

As of 4/28/22, the rate is still $12/ night.  Electric 50/30 amp, water at the sites. Several pull through sites. Dump station on the way out.  It was so peaceful with a nice view of a golf course. They have miniature golf, a swimming pool, play ground, tennis courts,  volley ball and grills. Thank you city of Sayre for putting in a beautiful park and for keeping the rates so reasonable.   Check out time is not until 3 PM.

We quite enjoyed our stay at Sayre County Park .  It was quiet and the power and water was appreciated.  The price of $12. was great.  There are a ton of goatheads but it was not a big deal as we are not traveling with pets or kids. There is a drop box (red pipe) to make your payment.  Great space - highly recommend it.

There is a crazy amount of prickles here on every surface! They are in our shoes, on our pants, in our dog's feet, and on her legs and belly. Would be a fantastic park if it were not for these sharp, tiny prickly plants even in the parking areas

Just arrived including me only 3 RVs here. I stopped early thinking it may be full later at this price. Very easy to get to off I40.

We stopped here around 11pm on a Weds night in early Oct. There were about 10 other RVs already set up for the night. Mix of pull thru and back in sites, 80 in total. 

Park was easy to find using Google maps, Waze was acting wonky. Make sure you get off at exit 20.

Once in the park, follow the camper signs. Self pay station avail P.q able and electric and water only $12 a night! Bring cash and a pen and use envelope provided. We never saw a camp manager. 

Since checkout is at 3pm there's lots of time to enjoy this cute park! Outdoor swimming pool with 2 diving boards was closed in Oct. Golf course, not sure of price. Mini golf $2 and it's open Tues - Sat nights. Also, had kids play area. 

Dump station is on the way out, no extra charge. It's on the road in front of the mini golf.

This park was pretty but not very dog friendly. Lots of prickers that got stuck in paws and on hair. Be careful of your own shoes too.

We loved it! Will definitely be back next time we're on I 40 for the long haul. I called and this park is open to campers all year long although they do have to turn off the water by the end of Oct. 

What a wonderful place to stay. Electric and water and a dumpsite on the property. 

This was a perfect stop in a small town to get us out of the heat wave! The price can't be beat at $12. There were only a handful of other rv's, and it was super quiet. Pull through spots were plentiful and some had shade. There was also a pool, putt putt, tennis and basketball courts, and a golf course in this park, which we'd take advantage of if it weren't so hot when we passed through.  Decent amount of grass for taking the dog out too, which we appreciated.  I wish more towns had amenities like this one!

Quaint little town park with level sites, water, electric. Dump station at entrance. $12 self pay envelopes. Gas in town is much cheaper than right off the highway!  We were there with only 3 other RV's Took a nice walk. Stay on the trail/pavement with dogs because there are sandspurs in the grass.

For $12, 30 amp service, water, and far enough from I-40 to get a great night's sleep, it can't be beaten.  It had level sites, some shaded, with many pull through sites.  Sewer dump is located just outside park, convenient when leaving.  There was no manager on site (March) so there was a honor system payment box.  (take a pen!!). Restrooms were locked due to Covid, a minor inconvenience.  

The park has walking trails, playground, picnic tables, golf course, and other amenities. Pool not open as too early in season.  

As an alternative to any of the other "close to the interstate" RV parks, this was great.  We were passing through on a trip to the Grand Canyon and would definitely come again.  Thanks city of Sayre for a lovely stopping spot.

Stayed here for one night with about 6 other campers. Pretty park, quiet and nice sites. Ours was slightly unlevel but a couple of boards fixed that.  We were one day too early to play mini golf, open Tuesday to Saturday. Would stay here again.

For $12, you can't go wrong but for only $12 we were the ONLY rv in the whole park!! It was amazing! Only one other person was camping (in a tent). City pool next door, beautiful little golf course behind the park and the merit pay system (we arrived on a Sunday) made everything seamless. Picked spot 77 nestled in the trees. Dogs loved it here. Hubband loved it here. I loved it here. Sayre City Park is a wonderful hidden gem that we WILL be back to stay at again soon. Lovely little town too. One of our absolute favorite parks now to stay in!!! Thank you to the people of Sayre for offering such a perfect little sanctuary for RVers to enjoy their special little slice of Oklahoma. Oklahoma is DEFINITELY OK!😊

We ended up having some park residents move into our camp...just under the tree in space 77. Three toads. Soooooooo cute!! Lots of beautiful dragonflies too. One perched on a branch directly over our heads and sat there for more than 30 minutes. It's a very special little park and an oasis unlike anywhere else. Please help keep it that way by visiting and patronizing the local businesses. Sayre is a special little town.

Stopped in for a night, stayed here back in 2017, still great. Dump station on the way out.

Only $12 per night and far from noise in the winter.  Baseball diamonds, rodeo grounds, play ground, volley ball court, ponds, golf course, hiking paths.  I was only one in entire rv area.  Water & elec with one dump area out on hiway.

Spent a very hit peaceful night. A very nice city park. Second time we have stayed there. Have elect/water dump near by

We didn't unhook so was great to get level spot.  Manager never came to collect, we dropped $12 in the box and off again.  What a nice park, even has a great looking 9 hole golf course, we will play next time.  There were only 3 rigs besides ours.  Lots of room, big concrete picnic tables 

Can’t go wrong here! Locals are very nice and helpful. Sites are very level. Pool, playground & walking trail all on site.

Echo what others have said.  Currently they have a bit of a mess cleaning up from a flood situation one of the workers told me.  Apparently linked to the failed levee that flooded portions of town early May.  Appear to be laying in some new pipes etc.  Still very nice.  Tmobile usable but weak. ATT strong as is Verizon.  Stated at end of pull through row..site 78.  Had to pull power cord prongs a bit to get good electrical.  About 3 total rigs here this monday night.

We stayed 5/7/19. As you get close you will see you are being directed to a golf course. Don’t be confused. That is correct. The pull throughs had water. The outside sites did not have the water on. Beware tiny stickers from plants or trees. Tons of them and we brought them in on our shoes. Painful for bare feet. For $12 we got water, electric, and dump station. Perfect stop. 

Pick your site, self pay, 11 gravel pull thrus + 2 paved handicap accessible pull thrus, separate loop of smaller back ins.  We are 53’ total and fit just fine, nice quiet park, good night’s rest. Only negative comment would be the goatheads, do not go barefoot and check your shoes before going inside.

Very nice park, easy to get to nice area and surrounding. We will be staying here every time we come thru here. We didn’t know about it till we looked on RV Parky.

Power and water backins & pullthroughs that are level (mostly). If you've dogs, watch for the ubiquitous little stickers (in their paws) and fire ants. A really nice overnighter or longer if you're exploring the area.

Clean, quiet, play ground for the little ones, very nice. 

We stayed at Sayre City RV Park one night 4/5/18.  Very nice quiet park.  There were 6 campers and about 12 pullthrus.  Very level, long  and 50 amps for $12.00.   The bathrooms could use an update.  Very basic and old.  As we are self-contained we rarely use the facilities.  Easy on/off interstate 40.  Will definitely stay here again.

Very nice RV park in a lovely family park. Stayed here for one night last week. Off season, so rest rooms were closed, but sites had water though signs indicated it was off for the season. $12 price well worth it.

Nice long pull-thru spots. A lot of nice (shorter) back-Ins. No sewer but a they do have a dump station, with water and electric at the sites. I’d come back! Well  and very nice for $12.

Looking for overnight and based on a previous review decided to check it out. This park did have good power, water and fairly level. However, poorly maintained, gravel entry was potholed. Not much room between sites unless end lot. No shade. Only handicap site was acceptable. Car traffic at midnight with some type of transaction going on between the cars. One car and occupant stayed all night, therefore, had a lousy night sleep. The city park, pool and golf course are adjacent but NO WATER IN POOL. Park needs maintenance and security 

Great local park with an $12 rate. No sewer but 50 as well as 30 amp power. Well kept. Highly recommend the area. Relatively empty.
