Gull Lake Recreation Area

We pulled in about 5:00 on a Sunday and saw sign said campground full. We then saw a ranger so we said we were going to ask the host if any spots to stay one night. She said oh yes for sure there are spots available. We said “ your sign says full”. She said oh it always says that and no further explanation. 
The rec. gov was unclear so that’s why we just stopped in. Later we picked a spot and made our 3 day reservation. 
Campground nice and relaxing. Bathrooms very clean, running hot water. Showers available, but we didn’t use them. Not sure if an extra charge. Clean dump station and fresh potable water. Recycling and lots of trash dumpsters. Pretty level and easy sites to get into.

Tight for big rigs. Better to unhook toads before arrival.. Our GPS route took us over the one lane dam crossing. If you follow directions provided by recreation.gov,  you won't have to do that.  Quiet and very well maintained. Our campsite was fantastic. 

Stayed 3 nights. Nice quiet campground. A bit tight for big rigs. Our 37 ft class A was ok. Friendly staff. Not tons to do but for short quiet stays I would return.  Electric only and gravel sites mostly level with some exceptions. Bring your boat for Gull lake access.

This Army Corps of Engineers campground is great! We stayed here two nights, on the first afternoon we were greated by the Park Ranger who came by to check to make sure we were in our correct spot, tell us where the emergency shelters were in case of inclement weather and give us our day use pass. After we got settled we walked around the 39 campsites, there were only three that might have been difficult for us to back into with our 33 ft fifth wheel. 

The shower house was exceptionally clean. As was everywhere you looked. I only saw one piece of trash on the whole property and when I picked it up the water was still cold so someone had dropped it recently.

This is a great place for a family to bring their kids, although I might add I didn't feel overrun by kids! There is fishing and swimming as well as boating! 

Neat and tidy.  Nice bathrooms.  Long level sites with ample space for outside living area.  Sites are situated so you don't have to look at your neighbor.

Narrow roads - while sites are long - 5th wheels will have a difficult time , electric only
