Gowrie City RV Park

I went there needing to spend a couple nights to visit a relative in the nursing home. The parking lot, and that is what it is, isn't level and I couldn't figure out how to turn the water hookup on. I didn't pay and left after 30 minutes. I went to the end of the street where there's a nice little park in front of the swimming pool. I called the police department and asked if I could spend the night there in the parking lot of the pool, they said no problem since the pool was already closed for the season... 
The rv park is a definite Fail....
Find a place to park for free...

Great place for a quick overnight stay. I believe there is only 10 spots at a first come basis. It is best you ask a local for directions. You put your money in a collection box. Vary Small town and everyone is friendly. Got to watch the local football team practice at the field across the street. Attempted frisbee golf at the park next door. Minimum amenities but that’s ok. Train whistle by and I told the wife that’s extra. Enjoy the stay, hope you all do too. 

I live in Gowrie so have never stayed there. They do have electric, water, sewer.   You can walk about 2 blocks to the city pool and about 2 blocks to the bar grill, grocery store. Golf course with food in town, roller skating rink. Napa dealer about a block.

Stayed there for 5 months for work.  Just a city park with no amenities.  Not much to do in Gowrie either.  Small Iowa town.
