Chewing Blackbones RV Park & Campground

Sites are in a large open pasture. Restrooms are disgusting. Didn't want to pay $100 at the KOA, so paid $45 here.  Agree with comments from others.

Overall it's fine. I'm sure it used to be nicer about 30 years ago. Price is great for full hookups. Shower house was dirty and a toilet was out of order. Hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Otherwise it's pretty good.

With a last minute trip to GNP we didn’t have many camping options so we gave this one a try. We stayed 5 nights and the place is a mess. The ground has tons of thistles and holes all in it. We saw some animal (either small prairie dogs or ground squirrels) pop their heads up out of them all the time. Walking in the dark is beyond dangerous because you will trip into holes. 
The spots are difficult to understand because it’s basically just a field and no one shows you where or how to park. The map they gave us made no sense. We had an electric only spot so asked about the dump and were told to just find one of the empty spots with sewer and use that. 
The website claims they have WiFi but when we inquired they told us it was just in their main building but even then, when we searched for it we couldn’t find a signal, thankfully we had 2 bars of AT&T signal at our site so we were ok. 
The bathrooms/showers were all closed and gross. We never saw a maintenance person in the park the whole 5 days we were there so I’m pretty sure they just don’t try to clean/maintain the park at all. They dropped port a potties a few places around the park, I guess since the bathrooms didn’t work. 
There are only a few random picnic tables and very few random fire pits. The roads are full of holes not clearly labeled.
If you absolutely have to have a campground near East glacier/St Mary’s and can’t find anything else go for it but otherwise I’d definitely steer clear. 

Rv sites are like in a big open field. Sites are pretty uneven. Nice views and the staff were helpful. No Wi-Fi  and no cell service.

Sites are basically grass and hookup are not Rv friendly. Weeds around hook ups and you need about 40 Ft sewer hose. Staff does not have a clue about reservation. Not very friendly and continuously make mistake when reserving.  Would only stay here again if only choice. Could be a beautiful place with a little tlc and better office staff

Nice views on st Mary lake, good location.  However it is basically pasture camping with utilities. Bath house is a no go.  No Rv pads. Roads in poor shape.  And they lost my reservation.  They did correct that issue.  On bright side, had a presentation by a Blackfoot tribesman who was excellent in explaining there culture n history.

A great stop close to the border for us. Our neighbours come every year to hike in Glacier Park. Amazing views from all sides with many tent and a few rv sites directly on water, although other sites can access. Clean and well kept amenities. 

Sites are rustic in the sense the grass is desert prairie grass. Electric is great and water available. Definitely come again!!

Nice location with beautiful views on Saint Mary Lake. We stayed 8 nights. Even showed up a day early & they easily had a spot for us. No map online so we were unsure what we were getting. Camp hosts were very accommodating with letting us move to a different site. Playground and canoe rental. Full hook up with pull through sites. There are plenty of prairie dog holes but its Montana,  they live there. Would definitely stay here again. 

Certainly in a beautiful area! Website is less than helpful. You pick out your own spot but there are no pictures of the sites, no pictures of the campground layout, and you have to be more careful than I was about reading what is at each site. They were accommodating when we arrived to move us to a FHU site but, technically, it was too small for our 5th wheel but the site was large enough to park next to the trailer. Water pressure is 10 psi max and our autotransformer went into boost mode when I first plugged in (only one other camp site occupied). Didn't try the showers or restrooms. Price is somewhat inflated for what you get but it is really close to two entrances to Glacier NP so that is worth something. Grass is uncut but you are basically parking in an open field which does give it a more rustic feel but we almost lost our Chihuahua ;-).

We loved our stay. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Sites are right beside the water and the view of the mountains is lovely. 

It is rustic, but has full-hook ups and shower houses. They also have laundry facilities and kayak/canoe rentals. It is everything we need we great views and easy access to Glacier Park. We saw a black bear our first night here in the woods near the dump station. 

Big open grass field.  Roads were paved at one time, mostly hard pack. Spots are all grass, and not marked well, but if you pay attention easy enough to figure out.  Spaces are huge, so you can park any direction you want.  No trees, but far enough north, not needed.  Great views of Glacier National Park!  Right on lake

We thought this would be a great place as it was close to Glacier National Park and on a lake for our dogs to play. There were no trees so it was a flat open field with no WIFI. We had several power surges which luckily caused NO damage as we had a surge protector. 

Now the REAL issue!!! Someone ripped open a locked compartment which held our gas filling station. They stole 5gal of gas and tore the compartment frame away from the RV body, causing significant damage. I called management and they were unwilling to acknowledge someone would vandalize an RV at their location. In fact they were hostile about it. They finally agreed to question people around us but never got back to us. 

Hey , so if. You looking for 5 stars campground and have all amenities- this is not for you . It is much more simple way of park . They do have different options for camping- FHU, just electric or dry camping, all depend how much you willing to spend and how long you stay. 
I love the simplicity of this place and also most important for us was that this land belong to Native Americans and give money back to tribes is wonderful. We love open spaces , less people and a bit cheaper stay . We Boondocking a lot this should give you idea why we love this park. 
Some people will absolutely find this place super simple for their taste . Please each to it own. I prefer have less then have all amenities and pay $$$$$$. 
i wish we was able to stay longer - they closing for season on 09/16. 

There were 5 RV’s on our group.  Upon arrival we found we had not reserved full hook ups.  The office staff was very helpful in relocating 2 of our RV’s that needed full hook ups.  There is a great deal of room in each site.  We had a beautiful view of the lake.  There is easy access for launching canoes. And yes the bathrooms need a little work, but they were nice and warm upon exiting the shower.  The water was nice too.  We plan to stay there again next summer with another group of RV’s

Basically an open field (prairie dog town - beware the holes) with some water and some electric.  Only 4 “sites” have 50amp, some are 30amp & no water/sewer.  1 of two bath houses was closed. Bath house didn’t seem to be cleaned daily

Only thing this park has going for it is location to Glacier and the view. Bathrooms are falling apart (shower handles literally came off in our hands both men’s and women’s showers) and they are very dirty. This park is the most expensive park for the money. Extra to dump. 

I can’t say I’d recommend it.  In a pinch it would do but I think it was way over priced.   On the positive the gentleman at the desk evenings was very personable and helpful.  Verizon coverage was very good.  The site we were given for our trailer was not deep enough and the tail end of trailer protruded into the driveway. We were not able to get trailer leveled which we’ve never had issue with. Showers were scuzzy. There were wood chuck holes in field. We’ve been traveling 3 weeks and this place was the most disappointing and most expensive at &58 a night. We stayed 2 nights as we didn’t want to take time to relocate. I think the park has great potential & at one time was very nice.  Seems management is just interested in taking in the money and not maintaining it.  Occupancy seemed very low.  I’d give it it a 2.5 rating.

Online price was $10. less per night, but cancelation was 48 hours with no refund. They are in development progress and rather high priced. Our lakeside was electric only. Facilities not particularly clean, but not filthy. Front desk girl was not friendly nor competent. Maybe she wask training and staff comes and goes. The guy was great!  

We came in with two trailers and got placed in the pasture. On the way there we took a turn to go down to the boat ramp and found two group camping sites that were awesome. For the just $2 more than we would pay for two individual spots in the pasture we got a private aspen lined group site with a path down to a rocky beach with great views. I admit we were not impressed with the pasture area but these group sites are amazing! They have water but no electric or sewer. The pasture area has full hookups. 

All the other parks were full so we ended up here. Don't expect much. You're in the middle of a big pasture. Our sewer take out was right below the water Spigot. Filthy. Nice people and you can be all by yourself, but that's about all that was good

We have a 35' RV with toad and found the spaces to be large and solid although parking on what looks like a field. We arrived in mid June and in the middle of the rainy season and the ground was solid. We had full hookups with 50amp electric for $50 (no tax as it is on the Reservation). The loop is a paved road and there are many RV and tent sites. Several tent sites are right on the lake. The views from our RV are beautiful. The teepees near the front entrance can also be rented to stay in. The RV and tent parking are down the road, closer to the lake and the front entrance and nearby road cannot be seen from the campsites. Fire pits are scattered about and grilling is permitted. We had great Verizon service but  no T-Mobile. Dogs also accepted as long as they are on a leash because there is wildlife all around and even wandering through the campground! Lovely stay.
