Tomoka State Park

Have stayed at this campsite several times and have enjoyed it very much! The sites are mostly private with brush between them and many are shaded. The park is great for walking or riding bikes. The bathhouses are relatively clean and they have washer and dryers on-site. Just make sure you have quarters because the rangers and store won’t make change for you. The town of Ormond is a great and it is near Daytona. I would recommend this park. Safe Travels!

I really like that they have activities . We met a couple at the Saturday music event and enjoyed their company during our stay. The west sites are near the road so you hear traffic. The East sites are on the water and buggy. The middle sites are just right. We enjoyed our stay. 

Great little park, off the beaten path, dirt roads, a little narrow, $20 per night, can’t beat the price.😃

Very nice state campground. Very nice well laid out sites . Some sites are small , some are good size . Most are dirt/sand a few have concrete pads . A lot of privacy between sites . Bathrooms are clean just a little out dated but hey flush toilets not pit toilets so all good . Check in super easy and friendly park rangers.  Water , electric hookup no sewer hookup but park has a dump station  . I have a 30 foot class C and had no trouble coming in or driving around the campground loop . If you like the beach it's only maybe a 10 minute drive  . This place is definitely a thumbs up and we will be back  .

Enjoyed our stay, the sites are nice but not for big rigs.  The bathroom was clean but not climate controlled.  I would come back.  Not far from the beach and there are rivers on both sides.  If you don't like tight and windy roads, this is not for you.

This park is about 25 minutes from Daytona and about an hour from St Augustine. The roads are tight and a big rig would be tricky. Plenty of privacy between sites and laundry and bathrooms are clean and well situated in the park. Dirt road and sites are sandy. 

Sites are dirty and all the interior roads are dirt.  Kinda trashy.

Easy to find off the Ormond Scenic Loop, check in was smooth.  The campsites are accessed via a large loop.  Most sites are not level front to back and/ or side to side.  They are sugar sand off the sugar sand road (messy after it rains).  The heavily treed park has sites that are smaller and closer together than you should expect.  The hookups (mostly 30A power, and water) are convenient, and functioned properly.  The many bathrooms and showers (each has a washer and a dryer) were clean (the moldy shower curtain present my first night was exchanged for a new one the next day without my prompting) with plenty of hot water.  This is a large State Park that sits between the Tomoka River, and the Halifax River so if you have a kayak or canoe (the small store on site also has rentals) this would be a good spot for you

Nice state park with the usual amenities.  The roadway within the campground is dirt, in pretty good shape but narrow.  Sites are also dirt (which becomes really sticky mud when it rains), close together but with a vegetation buffer between and not level.  Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, 30 amp electric and water, a dump station is available with water but does not have a hose bib connection for flushing tanks.  Big rigs will have trouble maneuvering into most of the sites.  Staff friendly but not overly helpful.  This really could be a great campground with just a little updating and sprucing up.  For the money it's not bad but not great either.

We camped in a tent and was woken at 2am by drunk loud losers.  They were loud and annoying while setting up there tent.  Then another inconsiderate rv loser woke us up again at 6am slammed his doors and hooking up.   

Nice park, private spots, some pull thrus.  Nice trails,  and camp store.  Close to civilization but rural feeling.

Nice peaceful quiet no sewage just dump  station/ just electricity and water just stop by two days coming from Key West

Roads very rough n dusty. I was told the bay was not long enough for my trailer.  Unhitched, but when I got there it was more than 50 foot long.  Good concrete base but most are sand. 25 min walk to shop nice tho n it has boats 4 hire.

Beautiful park set in the "real" Florida. Sites are shaded and private. Lots of foliage. Beautiful lake in the park. Hop skip and a jump to the ocean. 

Great value for a perfect vacation. 

Easy check in. Easy hook-up. Stayed in site #6. Bathrooms and shower rooms kept fairly clean. There are “dog waste” bags and trash drops available everywhere so it’s convenient. Fairly level sites. Very peaceful area. There are trees dividing each site so you get privacy. Would stay again.

Tomoka is a great all around park for everybody.  The sites are well shaded and private.  The park store complex on the water is great for those that are boaters launching a boat or renting a kayak or canoe.  If you are not that adventurist just sit in one of the rocking chairs and enjoy the view.  For the most part the campground is very quiet.  The shower/bathroom is very clean and updated.  If you like to fish you have many options as you are on the water.  If you want to surf fish or want to spend a day at the beach you are close to the Highbridge access to the ocean.  We did not see much wildlife but we did see a beautiful piliated woodpecker (think Woody Woodpecker).

We stayed 5 nights and plan to return. We ended up spending more time at Ormond Beach on the beach, instead of at the park. But the park is beautiful, and conveniently located to the beach, stores, and restaurants. It was quiet and simply beautiful, though the campground roads need some work. Great place to experience the "real Florida".

We stayed in site #50 for 6 days and had a great experience. Park is well maintained and easy to access. Located in Ormond Beach and only 12 miles from Daytona which made site-seeing very convenient. Staff were friendly and accommodating.  Facilities are clean but washer and dryers were not working consistently. 

We travel a lot and try to only stay at state parks while on the road. This park was perfect for us and our 24’ travel trailer. We like private sites on out travels and you will get that here. Park rangers were very helpful and friendly we even got a site with a concrete pad that is very unusual for a state park. We would stay again.

Entire park is dirt.  No paved roads.  If wet, your rv will be covered in mud.  Sites are private but not very peaceful with the noise of kids. Too far from the beach and walking the park isn't much fun in the dirt.  Check in process is STUPID.  No one but me and the ranger were at the check in gate and I had a fully paid reservation and I handed him the receipt with all my info.  He could have just turned around, logged it into the comp. and given me my pass but instead made me pull my rig off to the side and get out and go in.  Kind of a pain for me as an older, person with difficulty getting around.  Oh well.

Really too tight with  sharp turns.
Over 30 feet its quite a challenge .
No fun driving.

Site 36 has a tree bending over the entry way.  We made it but it was a challenge.  Nice shady sites and restroom near is newer than others.

Lots of privacy but tight manuvreing my 31 class c.  big sites but narrow roads.
