St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA

I would give it 4 stars if the price was cut by 50%,  But, at $138/night for this, way out of the way, KOA, I can only rate it two stars.  With a 45 ft. class A motorhome my site 611 was not easy in or easy out.  Absolutely could not put my awnings out and the coach covered all the pavement so we walked in sand.  But, the place was almost full so others are willing to pay the price.  I'll not be back.  Dog parks were too small for a 62 lb. dog.

Had great site on the water..great staff.great location.

Loved our 17 day stay. Great proximity to lots of beaches and restaurants. Good pool and hot tub set up. A second Adult only hot tub on premises was cool. Sites are older but still great. Definitely would go back. 

We we’re coming from our son’s in Stuart, Fl and wanted to see our other son in Seminole, Fl. They had no openings because of Easter weekend, I called back the next day and they put us in the snowbirds section, lot 107. I loved all the activities going 0n, loved how they escort us to our site. The worker helped my husband level our RV, just went the extra mile. I love the sense of a community there. I am interested now in seeing if we can get a permanent place. Great family atmosphere and very dog friendly.

Agree with everyone else, way overpriced, close to road, very close together sites. The utilities were set up poorly and we struffled a bit with septic hookup. Showers were clean, laundry was good, fun pool and smal putt putt course. The staff was nice and were working on property. Wasn't bothered by full timers on other half of property. Lots of site options including a couple different cabin styles. 

I have no idea why there are negative reviews.  Stayed here October 2019 and again 5 nights October 2020.  Place is clean...very clean. Had group rate for 3 nights.  Reg price is $83. Still worth it!

Stayed backed in by water, beautiful DW44 was the site.  Last year was DW 47 or DW 48.
Only negative is this Year was rough with NoSeeUms ...got chewed up on last night there.  My fault, didnt use my Deet repellant.
Will be back again!

Way over priced!!!!  Campground needs cleaned up. Only stayed one night, felt safer at Walmart.  Last need a shoe horn to get into our assign spot.  Didn’t even try to open our awning, to close to a full timers camper.

This place has 2 sides to it. One for campers and one for living year round. Lots of road construction and noisy. Very difficult for big rigs to get to.not all that nice

Very upsetting right across the street from the Va hospital. Want give a disabled veteran discount so he can b close to the hospital. 

Stopped as we were looking for someplace close to a beach. No beach, you need to drive. 
Our site was amazingly bad. Services were on the wrong side. Two feet tot the road and to the neighbour. 
Nice pool and they had a DJ for the long weekend. 
Lots of cabins and lots of full time Park models and trailers which never leave. 
Kayak rentals on site. 
Nice store. 
Value for dollar not there. 
I used my KOA membership for some discount but would not stay again

way overpriced $$$$$ stayed one  night & paid $126.00 ! Asked for a pull thru, what a joke! Barely enough room for a class A  38 ft. We had to unhook the toad by the the office & squeeze it in the site, very, very, close sites.

Way overpriced! Stayed 1night & paid $126.00. Packed in like sardines, we have a 38ft MH & toad & it was a challenge,  the pull thru are very short! More like a small back in. We don't recommend 

They have cheaper sites but you can not reserve them online or when you call..it is wierd. Way overpriced, but if you have to stay near St Pete not many options..park is ok, lots of residents, a little beat up, but safe area. 30 amp pull thru. 1/2 price before Nov and after May.

We have visited many Florida parks that are very high end and only $25-$40 a night. This place was $68. There is a lot of full timers with usual clutter. Most spaces are dirt, with many weeds.The streets are crumbling pavement.  Really very little grass to speak of.  Makes a difference when you have pets that are like dust mops. Can't really take advantage of water views for mangroves. As far as facilities (bathrooms etc.) clean and acceptable. The area leading into the park is commercial and gave me an uneasy feeling. However they do have night time guards. Only plus is location close to Largo, Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Will probably not stay again.

Very nice park, lots of nice sites to chose from very clean, staff very friendly close to beaches, shopping all very close. We will back.

It was nice, but ppl came in late in back n was not quite @ all, fixing dinner n drinking n kids was up too, was very unhappy, had to get up 3am n go fine security, other then that, its a nice KOA, I would go back, but not to stay in the cabins, we have a motorhome now

This is an average campground. My stay was ruined by a very rude office lady but the other staff were nice.

Seems like more than half the sites are 'snowbirds' or full-timers. Only half of remaining sites have cable and are VERY close together. We have a 39' class "A". Neighbor on patio side was a Winnie class "A". We lost a third of our patio area to parking our car. Then there was only about 3' to our neighbor's driveway. Overall, a quite area with a site right on the lagoon. Like others said, if you have kids, this is a good place to blow off steam.

Overall it should be fantastic but a combination of long term residents with usual clutter and mess and the awful narrow broken interior roads give this place a feeling of decline . Will not return 

This was my second time staying and i would stay again. You can't beat the location. Everything my wife and I wanted to do was within 1 hour. I will agree with the other review about how close the lots are to one another.  I kept my flatulence to a minimum because of that. The showers and bathrooms were clean. My wife did say that her shower had lost pressure,  mine didn't.  The pool was nice. The hot tub had so much chlorine it bleached my black swimsuit brown. 

These sites are right on top of each each other. Lots of families stay here, spelled KIDS......
