Snake Creek Recreation Area

We enjoyed one night at this place. It was very nice. Our site was electric only with water near by. Good place to ride bikes along with a hiking trail. There was a full bathhouse along with dump toilets.

Four stars only because of limited hookups. I stayed here in my 35' 5th wheel. The sites in my loop were all huge. Mine had a lovely view over the river and there were lovely sunsets over the dam. Most sites were shaded. The road and sites were asphalt and easy to navigate.  My space was a little short for my truck and the RV. The asphalt was about 5' wider than the RV with the slides out. The bathhouse was wonderful.  Very clean and seemed like it was pretty new.  While I only had an electric hookup, the water spigot was easy to get to in order to fill my tank. There was also a trail through the woods and prairie grass over to the south loop. Plus it was easy to get down to the water and you could walk for quite a ways along the river/lake. It was very quiet and peaceful. I would suggest getting groceries before you leave 1-90. The options to get more are pretty limited/far away. I did make a side trip up to Chamberlain to see the Lakota Museum. I really enjoyed that as well. I was in site 15E in the north loop. Oh, no wifi was available which is expected in a COE CG.

Nice campsites,most paved,some gravel.We had a nice view of the lake.Electric,water available,dump station across the road. We enjoyed our visit here. $7.70 "non resident fee" was the only negative.

$20.15 for an 30/50amp electric site. Beautiful views of the river. No flies during my visit. Lots of trees and shade. Level paved sites.

Nice setting but the flies  were terrible
