Shadehill Recreation Area

Called and was on hold for 10 mins then on a call back list. They never did call us back!!!!

It fills up with lots of boaters on the weekends in the summer, but almost empty during the week. Nice long sites that are mostly level; electric only. Cell signal for AT&T is hard to get flouting busy weekends, but with a booster, it is okay most of the time. The town of Lemmon, 12 miles away) is worth checking out to see the Petrified Wood Park and town museum, the art gallery, etc. That’s all free for viewing. The Palace theater has shows at 7 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The pricing is pretty reasonable. If staying more than a few days, get the SD vehicle tag for $36 so you don’t pay the daily rate for your vehicle. 
There are some swimming beaches and boat ramp. 

Midweek summer stay was very quiet. Spacious, gravel pad, electric only sites. Clean restrooms. Limited Verizon cell. Big rig access good though a few trees could use some trimming.

Beautiful lake, decent sized spots, some shade, not much grass.  Bathrooms/showers are immaculate. Lots of ticks. Electric only, water spigots throughout the park. Town of Lemmon (12 miles away) has 2 nice museums, grocery store and several good restaurants.

Not big rig friendly. Tree limbs to low scratched my rig . Would be fine if they would trim up
