Sarasota Walmart Supercenter

We stayed by all the mulch to be out of the way,  woke up with a note saying we would be towed due to Sarasota County not allowing overnights at this walmart. 

Parking lot was very small and congested anyways.

We stopped because of Over Night OK on app and there was No Signs posted stating No RV Parking. Lady knocked on door and handed us a letter that said Move by 6 PM or be towed. Stated policy change and not so friendly. We left and found a Cracker Barrel 15 miles down the road. With a lot sign that said for RV Parking.

I have a 27’ Class C, I parked in the back corner away from everything (opposite end from Steak ‘n Shake)

I pulled in around 11pm and first thing I saw was a 40’ Class A, levels out, slides out, toad parked perpendicular...in the middle of the main Walmart lot across multiple parking spots.  Don’t be this guy and ruin it for the rest of us.....

Across the back of the lot and along the perimeter there is plenty of parking available. 

This Walmart is in Sarasota County. There’s no city involved! Don’t listen to these people! Enjoy yourself there’s nothing wrong with staying here. Post here if you want to ask how I know this but I’ve been in county government for 30 years.

Stayed again no problem. Very nice place, relatively quiet and decent Verizon wifi.

Edited again Jam 2021...stayed again and there were several campers and RVs here tonight. Nice quiet place.

I went in and asked because I wasn't sure with the tow signs.  The woman said that they don't own the lot, the city does and they can tow if they want.  I asked if they have campers park overnight and she said yes. I asked if they ever had any problems with people getting towed and she said no. One other van camper not too far from our van.  Very nice but may be difficult getting big rigs in there. If you are big, your better off going to Bradenton on Ranch Lake Blvd just north.  We stay there to without any problems.  Nicer walmart also but this one isn't bad.  

Stayed one night at Home Depot next door after reading previous review. No problems except for road noise. 
Pulled in at 10:30 pm, then left at 7:30 a.m. to park in Walmart parking lot next door. Home Depot parking lot was getting busy by then and not a lot of extra spaces.
Neither Home Depot or Walmart parking lots are RV friendly parking, especially Home Depot. No pull through spots, lots of trees and tight corners

It’s not possible to past the night in this Walmart. We have a small truck van et somebody is coming to advise to leave us ..2 thowings were near him,
We moved just at Home Depot and no problem. 

Not true. Sarasota County has no ordinance against overnight parking. 

Asked the manager and she told us that it is not authorized by the county to sleep in a car or a RV. So not a decision of Walmart
