River Park RV Campground

This campsite was full of long term RVs, but seemed clean. There is a sign saying over flow can use Ken Adam Park which is on the north end of town. We went there and found it empty so we stayed for the night. It is dry camp only and has no facilities, but is just what we were looking for. $30.

Second stay here. It keeps getting better. We like the older sites under trees but tough hookups. Newer sites are on level concrete pads. Adjacent park is lovely. Shopping is close and the restored La Purisma Mission is not to be missed.

This is our second stay in two months. We are in the first sites, with lovely trees and some grass. Full hookups, picnic table and a firepit. We've been surprised as it is pretty quiet and everyone is friendly. There are trees between each site and it feels very private all things considered. The slab is asphalt and pretty level. the picnic table is on a concrete slab and its not in too bad of shape. Both stays we had to clean the site of trash and cigarette butts, and this last time there was cut hair all over and dog poops. It also smelled strongly of dog pee/poo but we cleaned up and sprayed an enzyme cleaner everywhere to get rid of the smell. Definitely worth a bit of work on our part for a nice site and 3-week stay. We prefer this area to the more expensive sites closer to the park area. They are more expensive and also more exposed as they are newer. All tent sites are closed as are the showers. No wood available from the camp host but they directed us to a wood pile at the end of the rv sites.

Regular sites are $30 a night, $200 a week. Easy access, all back in sites. 30 amp service. We were here for 3 weeks (max time allowed). You could stay longer, with special request.  Sites are clean with a picnic table and grill. It is a first come-first served camp, no reservations. 
They also have a number of premier sites, new full concrete pads, and utilities with 50 amp service. These are $50 a day, $325 a week.
There is a park and a small lake here also. There are two pavilions and lots of room for gatherings.
The roads could use a repave, but not the worst I've seen.

July 2019 - I visited in spite of neg reviews abt homeless. It was perfect!  Quiet, clean.  Did not use bathrooms.  Vietnam Memorial was humbling and well maintained.  Reasonable rate!  We stayed extra nites because it was so peaceful!  Seems like the city has stepped up their security/maint. according to prev. reviews.  Wildlife kept us entertained...bunnies, squirrels, birds.  It was perfect!

Homeless camps in the river bed along the campground. Police visit often in the night to quiet domestic disturbances of live in residents. Lompoc sucks, but Walmart a few miles away may be better.

The rv sites are ok. But they offer FHU and electricity doesn't work, the showers and restrooms have seen better days and the tractors on the fields aside work until 9 pm and start at 5 am.

I've heared good and bad stories but everyone lies. So I'll experience these things for myself

The new host, Paul and City of Lompoc did a very good job by
Clearing bushes  this year (2013). This action result in each and every
campsite has more real estate area extended. As the cost of gasoline
rising up daily and also the camping fees.  This place goes up to$20.00 for an RV from $14.00 and tent from $8.00 to $ 10.00.
But compared to San Luis Obispo County Regional Parks of $38.00
FOR AN RV and tent $25.00 is still the most reasonable.
