Rambler's Rest RV

Nice campground with great pool, hot tub, gym and pickle ball. Very easy off i75. No dog park but lots of green space to potty them. Lots of events. Would have given 5 star if roads were wider and we had a paved site. Nice staff and no noise in AM in our spot. Found coupon on Facebook for 50% off. 

Mud, flood and crud is everywhere! Many sites and roads under water. I would give this rating a zero if I could. We paid a premium rate for a premium resort site and got stuck in a site that is heavy traffic and we were packed in like sardines! The site is located on a very busy corner full of tire tracks and mud from recent rains.  A little crushed rock on the site would be a welcome addition to at least the residents passing through the site.  Our site had little room to safely put out the awning or chairs due to the mud and the constant passing traffic. NOT PREMIUM AT ALL! When I asked about another site I was told this one was the only one available.  Yet, when I walk the dogs I see multiple sites open where we could have been relocated. The lady who checked us in stated this was a wonderful site.  It is especially wonderful as there are two dilapidated park model trailers (at least 25 years old) right across the street from us to admire as we exit out our camper door. It seems these residents left for the hurricane about a year and a half ago and never came back! This is a park meant for permanent residents whose park models have deteriorated over time. It is not meant for weekends or short stays.  They couldn’t care less.  Don’t be fooled by their flashy website.  I do not recommend Rambler’s Rest RV Resort.  They don’t even have ice or a store.  I am sorry we came and will never come back.  Find another rv resort as this is no resort!!!  I was overcharged and underwhelmed by their campsite!

Lots of rules about condition of units but not enforced. Small, oddly configured RV sites mostly among permanent park models. Site had remnants of gravel on which to park, large holes and tree stumps. 

We had a problem with our toad and had to stay here overnight to get work done.  Avoid it like the plague!  It advertises WiFi, but you have to pay.  There is no over the air tv, the sites are dirt and tight together and they charge like it is a five star resort.  Arrived 4/8/22.  Departed NOT SOON ENOUGH!

Park is beautiful and staff is friendly, however, it's really tight for large rigs. We have a crew cab long bed towing a 33 ft TT (tongue to bumper) and we almost could not back into our spot due to other vehicles and trees along the edge of the road. 

Stopped by here today. Attempted to see the park (escorted) , was refused by park official from the office. This person was quite rude and would not allow my wife and myself to see the park. That told us exactly what we needed to know about this park ! This park will not be patronized by us nor can we vouch for the quality of the park or the quality of the people who stay here ! If the management behaves this way, then the people who stay here must Nehalem the same way ! Why would good decent people want to patronize this park ? The organizations who are associated with the management of this park should be questioned as well because of the lack of common makers exhibited by the management 

Sites look nice. Tried to get info from office. Locked. Lady opened and stood in doorway. Short & rude. Could not get info from her. No information. Not friendly. Hope she does not represent the site. Not going back. 1-20-21

Over priced for a mediocre resort. WiFi sucks, cell signal sucks, rv spots are prone to flooding.

Convenience of amenities were nice. Pool was wonderful and dog run was great, our dogs loved it. Most folks were nice. Traffic outside of the ground was difficult. Should have a light or an extra lane. 

We drove through it was horrible. Wet,ruts, way to  much money  .

We are staying here currently. For family of four it’s ($883 for 11nights) $80 per night which is more than we spent in the Keys. Unfortunately there are no other options in this area. Every other park within 50 miles is either booked solid or doesn’t allow kids.
We booked through the Thousand Trails main phone number and have paid for an “Elite“ spot. There’s nothing  Elite about our spot. The reviewer before me is right in that it is a muddy wet mess. Our site is the bottom of the drainage where all the water runs to. We barely can walk in and out of our spot without either walking through standing water or trudgng through a neighbor’s site (which is against the rules). 
When we first arrived my first impression was a trailer park that was unkept. There was a fifth wheel in our site and they were double booked. We spent a good majority of the day waiting for them to leave, but unfortunately they didn’t get home until night time. They have since spent the week in the overflow parking lot, along with a large class A that I wonder if maybe the same thing happened to. (Again no other sites in the area...trust me, I called them all when our site flooded to try to move parks)
This is a huge park and it looks to be the majority of full timers with a mix of semi permanent trailers and RVs. It appears that everyone enjoys living here and they know each other. The amenities are nice including a  pool and spa, splash pad, clean bathhouses and workout room, tennis courts, dog park, river with dock to fish from, ponds with alligators, sewing/craft room and special parties/activities. They have activities going early every hour which we have not participated in. We have talked to people who have been coming here at snowbirds for 30 years. They must love it. They ride bikes and walk and socialize. It is a decent location to get to restaurants and beaches which we have enjoyed finding sharks teeth at. 
Bit, it’s not for us. Oh and the clencher??? WiFi is NOT included. It’s extra at $25/2 weeks and the front desk said that it’s poor since the hurricane. We’ve been to dozens of cheap parks and even they advertise free WiFi (however good or bad it may be).
Unfortunately, though, it’s a $35 Park at an $80 rate. We will not be coming back.  

Drove through this park looking for a park to stay at.  From the front it looks great but as you drive further into the park you realize what a muddy, wet, dirty mess it is.  No cement or gravel pads.  The RV spaces are all grass.  There is a lot of standing water.  There was a yard/pest control guy out spraying the standing water.  Don't feed the alligator signs posted.  Not a park for children even with the really nice playground.

Bought our rig from Lazy Days in Tampa and they include 14 free days at Encore resorts.  The staff was extremely friendly and attentive.  Upon learning that we were newbies, they guided us to our site and ensured we got in OK.  The resort is very good.  Lots of snow bird permanent places and a mix of camping sites.  The park was quiet and clean.  A previous review noted the low-lying areas...while we did not get rain it was still damp and I can see that there would be issues.  Still not much anyone can do.  The friendliness of the staff was what made me want to return.

We stayed here for a month. Very nice place with lots of activities and things to do. Myakka River is tight there and was a pleasant place to sit and relax.  The only downside was that when it rained (and it rained a lot) the place was underwater.  All the rv sites are on grass and there wasn't any place for the water to go. We couldn't even get out of our door without walking through four to six inches of water. I had to take an extra pair of shoes and a towel with me every time we went anywhere.  By the time we left, the tire ruts in the grass were enormous and the entire place looked like a big mud bath. I know they can't do anything about the rain but it didn't seem like they were prepared for that kind of weather.

We stayed here 4th of July weekend. It was our first trip out with our TT and we were glad we got a pull-through (only downside was that it didn't have sewer hook up). The pool and waterpark were great; we spent a lot of time there! The grandkids loved the waterpark and the playground.  The adults got a kick out of the oversized chess game.  Bathhouse/laundry were very clean.  Nice grounds to walk around.  Office personnel were very friendly, as were some of the visitors we met.  We'll be back again.
