Packwood RV Park & Campground

Location was perfect to visit Mt Rainier. Sites were pretty level and utilities were good. We had no complaints of the area and neighbors were all very friendly. Even saw two elk within the area. Would definitely stay again if back in the area. 

Large spots full hookups with 30amp power. Full time residents in a separate part of park. This park is okay for a base to visit Mt Rainier.  I didn't check the bathrooms as we are self contained.  Site #35 has no shade. I think most of the shaded spots are full time residents or people staying longer than 2 days. 
I would stay again because of the location. 

I tried to reserve online, no response. I called & left a voice mail, response was after I left to say they’re closed due to fire & my Class A is too big. I did arrive hoping to get a site, but there was a sign on the door, closed due to the fires. The campground was a bit run down but there was a nice new log office being built so I assume there will be updates to the entire property. I just wish their responses had been more timely.

This is a run-down poorly managed old park. No one was here when we arrived. A grounds keeper told us to look for an envelope at the office but there wasn’t one. We could see our assignment through the window on a white board. There were many open sites, but the site manager made it sound as if we would have to move if we came in on Sunday. It was quiet and convenient for walking through town to restaurants and the visitors center as well as convenient to Mt Rainier NP. Great location, too bad it is neglected. Nachos Mexican Food was good, and service was exceptional. You may also want to eat at Paradise Village Ukrainian Food in Ashford as you return from Mt Rainier.

Could be a really nice park.  Close to National park, right in town, but ~~~~~~.  Needs work.  Hard to find office.  We were there for 3 nights and watched rigs pull in then out because they didn’t know where to go.  Price was good.  Laundry was good price.  Elk wandering thru grounds every evening and morning.  Good potential.  No tv and no WiFi.

Great access point to the park, but super basic. No frills, but reasonable. 

This is NOT an RV resort, no amenities.  Cash only.  It is a great place to park your rig and tour the park.  FHU with 50 amp.  I stayed in #8.  View of Mt. Rainier from the coach windshield.  Level and plenty of room for the towed.  Satellite TV was hit and miss, no cable.  Donna at the office was very helpful.  The eastern route to the park from Packwood has the better road.  The road to the eastern entrance has lots of really bad potholes, dips, bumps, etc.

We stayed here last minute and they were great about getting us in. Our truck actually broke down while we were here and had to go into the shop. They told us not to worry about leaving by check out time. The showers were old, but after a long day on the road it was just fine for us and they were clean. The laundry room was clean as well but can only be used during office hours because you need a special key for it. Cute little town and everyone was very friendly. 

In the little town of Packwwod, directly behind the library. Restaurants and shopping nearby. Nothing fancy but nothing really bad either. Just a tired little park. But trees are mature, nice shade. Spacing is generous, TV and cellphone worked. Didn't use the restrooms or laundry. Mountains just minutes away. Elk walking around in the campground! Cash only. 

Most sites are on uneven grass. Got lucky and got site 34, a level gravel pull through with a concrete patio. Not too many of those though. Facilities are clean but pretty old , like no hooks on any of the stalls. Look for legs! Wifi ok and the saving grace was that there was decent cable since its remoteness negated any antenna use. Would probably stay there again if in Packwood.
