Olympic National Park-South Beach Campground

Campground was closed October 6, 2022…maybe because “season” is over. But it was locked up and closed. 

National Park Service so you can use your American the Beautiful pass & pay $10 instead of the $20. Price is high for dry camping but there are bathrooms with toilets. NO sinks to wash your hands, there was some hand sanitizer on the door leaving the bathroom but come on you have running water for the toilets, have some sinks! No potable water at this location but we had water in our rv so we just used the rv. On some positive notes, it is all 1st come 1st-serve & right on the beach, spaces had a picnic table & a fire ring. Camp host was friendly! 

It’s $20 now. It’s not $15-20, it’s $20. Camping and parking has gotten much more expensive since COVID. So the vast majority of the costs posted on this app are outdated now. 

Crowded when kids are out of school. Popular site. $7.50 per night with Senior National  Park pass. No hookups. Water and tank dump available 3 miles north.

$15 a day, dry camping; fill out envelope and cash (or check) and drop in iron ranger tube by toilets, where board shows spots that are open or claimed. Host is in big rig as you enter lot. Gravel lot and most sites have picnic table and fire pit. A guy drives around at 5pm selling firewood (if no burn ban in effect). Host is very helpful and can squeeze smaller rigs, camper vans in some spots in an overflow situation.
