“Camping spots not level/holds water”
With the name KOA I was expecting that quality. But there hasn’t been any improvement to the sites for a long time. We walked the campground and noticed we weren’t the only campers who had to level their units with extra boards. Hosts were friendly, showers were decent but this place definitely needs to improve their sites

“Worst KOA we’ve stayed at”
Booked a year in advance. Requested a shady site Our site is in complete sun beside the entrance with the campground and road traffic noise. We did have good wifi. Makes us question KOA ratings.

“A bit difficult for Bigger RVs”
We managed to get to our site without damaging the RV but we had to be super careful, due to fairly tight turns and trees. Reminds me of a State Park. The site is too short to actually park our tow behind the RV comfortably. We have a FHU with 30 amp service and cable.

“Poor Unacceptable Site”
We averaged $44 / night for W/E30/I with out KOA discount ($49 without). Our dirt space sloped 4 to 6 inches between our wheels but was totally shaded as the entire campground is heavily wooded. Internet service was very good. While there sites were spacious with many trees between neighboring sites, the area where we could park our motorhome on the site was very narrow with trees on both sides. it was difficult to turn into our space. Also, we made reservations for our 37' motorhome towing a car. However, our site as barely long enough for our motorhome and it was very difficult to park our car without blocking roads. The individual checking us in upon arrival said if we could not fit our car on the site, we could park it in overflow parking on the other side of the campground!!!! Unacceptable!!! My 2 star rating reflects the fact that our site was not acceptable for what our reservation requested and the individual who registered us instructing us to park our car across the campground. This campground is only a couple of miles from Munising. Many waterfalls and overlooks throughout the area are well worth seeing. Not to be missed is the Pictured Rock Cruise. Though a bit pricey at $50 / person, the sunset cruise we did was spectacular!!!!

Nice sites but too close to traffic noise. And site did not have its own sewer and water. Might as well gone to a state park.

“Great for Pictured Rocks”
Yes the roads are gravel/sand—you’re in the north, people! Pros: Location, I had a great clean and level site, great shower house, helpful staff, beautiful grounds (woodsy) with flowers placed around, WiFi near office (had to use unexpectedly for work), good little dog walk through woods, kids seemed to like the pool. Cons: Would have preferred full hook up, dump station pin was missing and had to hold cap with foot....aaarg!

“Do not stay here!”
I would not stay here again. Placed in the middle of a field right between the dump station and the highway. It was like they were just trying to squeeze another buck out of you and just put some spots right in front. The sites were so marshy, no gravel. That would have helped a bunch. Apparently water runs up hill at this campground. The sewer hookup was a foot above ground. By the time we left, our trailer had sunk. Buyer beware, not like the pictures.

“Glad we gave this place a shot ”
We booked a w&e pull thru site here last min through the holiday weekend. We were really hesitant due to the reviews, but I’m glad we gave this place a chance. It’s really not that bad. It’s a little over priced for what you get, but overall the staff has been very friendly and helpful, the restrooms and showers are old, but they have been clean during our stay. The laundry facility is clean. The pool is nice. Our only complaints would be most of the sites are not level , they are all dirt , and equivalent to what you would get at a state park for half the price. There is some nice shade, plenty of mature trees and some decent space between your neighbors. Some of the sites are awkward and face each other , but it’s not a huge deal for us. We are social people and we did not come here for the campground, we came here to see the Pictured Rocks and the waterfalls. Is this place luxurious? No, it could use some updating. Is it’s decent and clean place to stay in the area with full hookups available? Yep! We have a 36foot tt and we didn’t have any issues getting into our site, just leveling it, thankfully we had all things we needed to make it perfectly level.

“Exactly what we needed! ”
We stayed for one night here on an extended length vacation. The site was just what we asked for and the employees were amazing. This was during COVID in July 2020 and we were impressed with their desire to please customers and take precautions. Thank you for a great stay.

“Not my favorite ”
We stayed three nights at this KOA. We have stayed at a lot of KOA’s in the past as we have joined their membership. We found this one to have dirt sites and the site we had was very tight for our motorhome. It was also the first time we were not escorted by somebody in a golf cart to our site. We did use the pool one afternoon as it was in the 90s there and that was very nice and clean with nice chairs. We did not use the restrooms or shower facilities. The office and registration area was very nice. Generally have found the KOA s very dependable nice campgrounds but this one was not the usual.

“It was fine”
Very friendly in the office. Yes it is very wooded. Sites were pretty level , cable and WiFi was great. The sites are a little tight, we have a 35' and it wasn't so bad...we didn't notice any problems with noise or dirty

“Just ok”
We stayed here for our vacation to explore pictured rocks, August 2019. This is the first time here but not our first time at a KOA, we had high expectations but were let down compared to other KOAs. I didn’t get to pick my own spot. We were assigned a spot and we hated it. It was in the front in this weird circle next to the telephone pole. The spot had a bad angle and no room seriously so tight. I recommended a full hook up and near the play ground but we were not near the play ground. Also the play ground is just a swing set and slides boo. But they knew the size of our trailer and still put us in this horrible spot. The pool was nice but I don’t think the filter was working because there was so many leaves and pine needles floating around. The bathrooms were fine the laundromat was clean. The camp store was nice. We plan to visit pictured rocks again but we’re going to try the campground down the street. We

“Unfortunately disappointed ”
This was probably the worst KOA experience ever! Our site was out front rIght near the highway. The noise from the traffic was awful. Worst of all our trailer door about 2 feet from our neighbors sewer hookups! There was NO way to relax under our awning. Totally ridiculous to be charged as much as the nice wide sites in the back of the property. The staff was friendly and the location was good near many places to see and eat.

“Low end koa.”
Sand roads. Tight driving. Bathrooms we're not as good as many koa, small showers and only 2 available. Adequate campground, but 58 dollars for pull through is twice what it's worth.

“This park is just fine!”
After traveling all through Michigan this summer, I give the park great ratings. Nice wooded sites, nice store, decent bath house. Nice heated pool. Bugs weren’t bad on July 3 2018

“Nice campground very close to pictured rocks”
We thought the campground was more than adequate for a weekend stay. Bathroom seemed very clean. The Wi-Fi was excellent, and the ease of access in the drive-through or pull through sites was wonderful. We had a site with full water electric and sewer, and the site was 90 feet long, which was more than adequate for a 40 foot class A pulling a motorcycle trailer. Other reviews on apps and websites gave the campground negative feedback but we just didn't feel that way after spending a weekend in August. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

“Crowded, noisy, not level”
As previously noted, many sites, including ours, are far from level. Very noisy with screaming teens and chopping wood in the evenings. Quiet after 10 pm but some would like quiet after dark. On the plus side, well back from the road, lots of trees, clean restrooms and laundry ($2 wash, $2 dry). Large campground and busy. Would not stay here again.

“Dirt and trees”
It's now a KOA. As others have said, all dirt and trees. Roads barely adequate for 36' class A. $45 for water/electric/cable. Cable snowy. Water and cable both went out at 9PM, back on by morning.

“Sad.”
Entire campground is dirt road, including sites. Had a pull thru which didn't have enough room to extend our awning. Lots of mature trees which provides excellent shade, but doesn't allow any grass to grow. Had to use 30 amp plug, which was loose in pedestal. Mosquitoes were horrible. Had to walk dog in front of campground entrance due to no grass (didn't want to use the pool/playground area behind office. Pool was drained and not working. Office charged $7 for a bundle of firewood that was $5 on the road coming into town. Finally, with all of this, $50 a night for full hook-ups?

“Midleading”
This place looks good in pictures and from the road. The pool is not in service, the cable TV was not in service. That is only the beginning, all roads and camp sites are dirt or mud. They desperately need to fog the camping area, the mosquitoes are vicious. We spent no time outside our motor home, unless we were running to the Jeep to leave. Please read the previous reviews regarding the restroom and showers. I have NEVER been in a campground that didn't patrol the property. This place is poorly staffed and maintained. Avoid this place and save yourself the aggravation.

“Needs lots of Maintenance”
This is almost the only full service campground around, and because of this I think others' reviews are overblown. Sites are woodsy and okay, although the placement of electrical and sewer is strange on some sites requiring 30 ft of sewer line and about 30' for electric. Restrooms are horrible. There are just 2 showers per gender for whole campground. Cleanup woman actually accused people of stealing handsoap because it was used up over 4th of July weekend. In ladies only 1 shower really produced hot water. Hooks are falling off wall. No bench for clothes or glasses. When you tell the person who checks you in about these things he has a tendency to try to blame kids who camp there. There is simply no staff, maintenance or other. Be prepared for fairly primitive conditions.
