“Beautiful and Relaxing ”
We stayed for a week in April. Warming up during the day and mosquitoes definitely out in the evening. The sites are very nice, level and mostly shaded. There is a little sound from I4 but nothing I would consider a nuisance due to foliage. Only drawback was there was only one sewer dump when leaving (no sewer on sites) but water pressure was good and electric appeared to be kept up. We will definitely be back when visiting again.

“Convenient campsite”
Small campground next to busy Lake Monroe boat launch. Bathrooms are individual entry-coded unisex stalls: Clean & functional, but old; cement showers were uninviting. Water, elec, dump station. Road noise from I4 & 17, but buffered by vegetation. Our site was in sun, but most others had shade. Self serve kyak rentals for $2/5 minutes. Reservations only with max of 7 nites in a row and 30 days per year. Best of all, convenient for visiting my grandgirl 😀.

“Nice stay”
Nice park, 25 sites, WE with dump on the way out. Good water pressure and clean bathrooms. There is a multi use trail which is beautiful. The town of Sanford has lots of choices for eating and drinking. Highly recommend Hollerbachs and La Spadas You are located right off I4, but there are lots of trees so noise wasn’t an issue. There are trains but they didn’t bother us.

“Right on bike trail ”
Lake Monroe Park. Stayed 1 night here. Easy access to many miles of bicycle trails. There’s a boat ramp and a playground - among other things. The campground bathroom has a keypad lock and the code is provided in the reservation email. There is a dump station that can also be used for a $5.00 fee if you’re not staying at the park. You can only reserve a site by calling the parks & rec department M-F. Booking online would be helpful.

“Terrific value”
Stayed for 5 days. They were 80% empty when most all affordable places were full. And they were half the price with a better location. 50 amp and water with dump site. Nice, treed campground (spaces 9 and 10 are fairly close and treeless, but easy to back in if you need that). Showers and bathrooms are older, but well maintained and the water was hot, though it took a minute. A bit of road noise that you would hear in a tent, but not an RV. Occasional trains in the distance. One of the best values we've found!

“Great Campground ”
We really enjoyed camping here for 2 nights. It was on par with Florida State Parks, which we enjoy. Site had 50 amp service and water, they have a dump station. The hiking and bike path at the back of the campground was a wonderful surprise. Highway noise is a negative but it did not bother us. A bit cumbersome to make a reservation but the lady was very nice. Only a small number of sites for big rigs but most were empty during our stay. We were on site 23. Great bargain for $15/night.

“Good little spot- availability on the weekends”
We ended up here because of weekends being booked up at the various state and county parks nearby. But we enjoy this place. First, the cons: a good bit of noise from I-4, and the train tracks. There's no campground staff per se, but the maintenance crew is very friendly. There are some mosquitos due to being close to the lake. The pros: It's well maintained, lots are level, the other campers are quiet, it feels safe. The showers are awesome: it's a shower, toilet, and sink in one room, so you can have complete privacy. The spring to spring trail is awesome for walking or biking (paved and flat and very well maintained.) It's about a 3 mile trek to Gemini Springs, which I recommend! Lots of wildlife: armadillos, hawks, owls, turtles, rabbits, and many different birds. Also, there's a fishing pier and boat ramp here. Easy navigation in our 31 foot class C. Dump station is clean. Beautiful surroundings. And Sandford has a wonderful little downtown and River walk.

“Excellent location ”
Right on the lake sites are easy to get in and out of. Water and electric only at sites but dump station is easy access. We stayed for 5 days and did some day tripping including the 30 minute drive one way to Universal Studios. The drive was easy and for the price it couldn’t be beat

“What's going on here?”
Camped there in 2016 and loved it. This year, 2017, we wanted to return there while visiting friends in the area. We called several days in advance of our arrival date and were told the campground was not full and come on. Upon our arrival on Sunday, we were surprised to be told that the campground was full! There was no one to speak with to confirm our phone call message. We drive into the Campground and found it EMPTY except for two campers! We pulled onto an empty site and returned to the office. There, to our surprise, was an office manager who told us to camp anywhere since we were already there. In the morning when we called the County Parks and Rec's office, we were told we could stay but they are NO LINGER taking in any walk-ins. You must have a reservation which can only be done by calling Volusia County Parks and Rec during office hours Monday through Friday. You can not stay there without this reservation which can not be made at the campground.
