Ken's Lake Campground

We loved it here. Nice generous sites. Lake nearby and a Jeep trail up in behind. Nice easy location to get to Moab, Arches, 2 Canyonlands districts. We saw bats at night which was cool, beautiful sunsets and sunrises, and so many stars.  

Beginning August 28, 2022, Loop A campsites in Ken's Lake Campground will be available by reservation only through Recreation.gov. Reservations can be made the day of, up to 6 months in advance from anywhere service is available. This is the only option, cash and check payments are NOT available onsite. There is cell service for most providers at the campground entrance. Loop B campsites are available first-come, first serve only. All previous reservations made for the Fall of 2022 remain in place. If you're looking for a Boondock near Moab this is it. You can reserve sites on recreation.gov there are also some first come first serve.
Hiking trails in the area are very good. Faux falls are worth the hike.

Desparate to cool off after Arches, drove here hoping Faux Falls still had water. And it did. Found several sites not yet reserved. Enjoyed cooling off in the falls and the creek that ran behind our campsite. Next morning jogged up BLM road behind campground. Wish I had taken my kids as it was a great place to scramble. Could have spent the day exploring if we had the time. $10 with interagency pass. No water. Not much shade. Cleanest vault toilets I have seen. Would have given 5 stars if had more shade. 

Stopped after a long drive. Called first and the recording said all spaces are first come first serve. The place is beautiful and has very large spots easy enough to navigate our 40ft fifth wheel, however every empty space had a reserved tag or a car parked on it. Some people there were drunk and rowdy and were very disrespectful and impatient while we were backing up to leave (pulling up toward us with thier highbeams on, pulling in behind us and instead of waiting they whipped around us in the grass, and then one brilliant person did stop to give us a moment but they stopped behind us in our blind spot and turned all thier lights off) Quite a disappointment because the location is stunning. 

We arrived at midnight, so saw very little of the environment. We wanted to get away from the pricey campgrounds in Moab, so thought this was a good alternative. Which it was! However, Ken's Lake campground is also quite pricey, considering it's just dry-camping. 

But in the morning sun we woke up to a beautiful view of the mountains and lake! So I guess you pay for the view. 

State owned campground, you pay by putting cash or a check in an envelope and putting it in a box, and then tearing off a note and placing it in your vehicle window as proof.

Very calm, not many campers were here. Wide spaces, nice surroundings. There aren't a lot of trees tho, so it gets very hot in the morning sun. We had to get away before it got unbearable.

Moab busy unbeknownst to us and all campgrounds full. Little lake with big open primitive sites. Lovey waterfall one mile from campground. 

Excellent views, easy access with 35’ FW, close to Moab.

Great view, convenient to town, almost always open sites 

Good place to camp blm site pit toilet no amenities . Dry camping about 7 miles from Moab
