Hickory Ridge Campground

We stopped here overnight but wish we could have stayed longer. This campground is very clean and has all of the amenities for a comfortable stay. We will definitely stay here again. 

We were on the road in our 38ft motorhome towing a Jeep Wrangler (60 ft overall length) we were tired and getting cranky, and we couldn't find a place to stop. The 1st place I called was across the highway from Hickory ridge CG , and they said they were booked. 
 We read the reviews of Hickory Ridge, and it looked good, but there was a person that said it was difficult to find. So after reading that, and being tired already, I really didn't want to deal with a difficult excursion.  We decided to go with it, and it was a great decision. 
 Getting there is a bit weird, negotiating a round a bout and then going down a service rd for 5 miles. It really isn't a big deal.
 We got there after the office closed, but the manager said our check-in  sheet and map would be on their billboard, and it was. The place is pretty big, and we were unsure exactly how to get to our site, but just as we were about to try, the manager ( super nice guy) guided us to our very long and wide camp site.
 Super happy I decided to check this place out. Well kept grounds, big big sites, FHU, off leash dog park, hiking trails, and just overall very nice for a 1 nighter or longer.  The pool was closed but was pretty big, and there's all kinds of stuff for the kids to do. 
 The owners are new, and are doing a great job. 
 If I'm ever in that area again and need a place to stay I'll definitely stay again.

Great place, met owners, they are constantly making improvements and adding new sites. Pinic table and grass at site. Nice dog park with some shade. Lots of options for kids in playground. The only downside was that it took us a little longer than usual to level and had to unhook toad.

Staff was friendly. Super easy and convenient to book online. Easy on and off interstate access. Site was fine but there was trash in the fire pit. Looks to be several long term residents on the property. But fine for a quick overnight.

We had a wonderful experience here for an overnight stay. The location is easy access and the  park is well maintained.  The pull through spot #77 worked wonderfully for our 40” ToyHauler and full sized truck. The bathroom facility was very clean and all the services worked well.  We made our reservation online as we were pulling into the campground. That also worked well. Will stay here again on our travels through MO. 

Lived this little campground. It is well maintained and sites are pretty level. Our site (75) was perfect for us and out little dog...we had nice grass outside our door, in the median behind us and across the road between us and the pool. We would definitely stop here again if our travels have us back that way!

The woman who answered the phone around 7 PM directed me to the website to book. She answered my questions. We made a reservation online and were greeted upon arrival (9:15 PM) for an escort to our site. Didn’t use any amenities. Would definitely return. Not difficult to find; we followed the directions in our confirmation email. Quiet and peaceful. Owner was personable. They are making improvements to the campground and maintaining it well.

Very hard to find. 

This park is updating and in great shape, new water connections, easy access around the park, nice gravel drive. We stayed over night and enjoyed it. Great celluar cricket 5 bars AT&T 5. Management was nice and maintenance man was really nice. We will be back.

Friendly  staff and easy in and out.  Mix of long stays and short.  Reasonable rate.  Resident said they had r3c3ntly buried some water lines and at my site there was a marshy puddle that was difficult to cross.  Thus the loss of a star.  Would stay there again.

Nice, well kept campground. Reasonable rate with very nice pool for the kids. Large dog park. Water pressure was fine. Spigot was at end if site. I used 2-10' hoses and had plenty to spare. We're a Class A towing a car and it was easy in and out.

Nice place that is growing! New owners seem motivated to get it back at its best. By far i would stay again and it was a good single night stop. Roadway in was not a problem at all as mentioned below.

Great over night stay.  Level lot and easy interstate access.  Quite nights rest

We stayed overnight enroute to destination.  Good electric and water hook up, did not use full hookup.  electricity would not stay on but they came over to see what the problem was. They are working on this campground to improve electrical, the swimming pool and grounds. Well-kept up lawn area. Good dog park. Lots of wildlife around. Interstate noise but still managed to sleep.  there are some full-time residents here. 


We stopped over for one night, looks like new owners are working to fix things up.  Staff was very accommodating and our site worked well - would definitely stay again!

Under new ownership.  Great folks.  Great for one night or more.  Very accommodating with no reservation.  Will stop again.  

The New owners, Bev and Jason, are super friendly. They are making many needed updates, changes, and additions to the campground.  My 13YO son says it went from "Zero to Hero" since they've taken ownership. We feel very welcome each and every time we stay there!

We had no problem getting our 36 ft class A with tow in the park. The road was newly paved to get into the park. Nice mature tree’s. They had a pool I did not you the showers or laundry. Easy in and out to the highway great place 

There is only 1 water spout per 2 sites of “full hookup”. The “closer” (still one site away) water had only a trickle of water. We had to use 3 hoses to connect to a site 3 spots away. 

Do NOT come at night. Maybe even not by day. Tiny roads. Uneven bumpy roads. Trees blocking the roads. Roads on the map that are not roads. We nearly tore the side off our 37’ motor home. 

New owners & great staff that were very helpful & friendly.  Lots of open space that our dog enjoyed. Big pool & pet playground. The campground needs some TLC but new owners & staff are working hard to get it in good shape!  It s a pretty area - we would stay again!

As of Jan 25, 2022 campground has new owners.  So any reviews prior to that are not valid.  Great campground and great new ownersQ!

Is now Hickory Ridge Camp Ground.  We will be staying for one night on March 20th, 2022.  People are very pleasant over the phone.

After 3 nts of boondocking, this was a welcomed stopover; clean, quiet, and level gravel pad. Open year-round. There are some full-timers. We stayed here before, and will stay again. After taxes and AAA disc $31.43 w/ full-hookups (30-amp). Verizon 4 bars.

Park is good. The spaces are pretty uneven but doable Some spaces look a little hairy though.  Ours was doable.  Electric  connection was a little old but ok.  Would stay again.  Quite park.  

I do not understand the bad reviews. This is a nice campground. Gravel site but very level, nice pool, nice lady at the front desk, good price. I would stay here again.

Nice level lot, no cable, website advertises WiFi but does not have WiFi. Quiet for sleeping.

Goes to show not all reviews are good. Great overnight stay. Roads are good, no vicious dogs, pull through sites with full hookup. I even got a veteran's discount.

We did a drive by after reading the reviews.  It does look very nice from the road.  Pool sparkling and lake with folks sitting.  Appeared to have empty sites.  

Large vicious dogs running loose. Literally had to scare one off my dog. Vicious dog belongs to a permanent resident. Sites have a lot of erosion, many not usable. Good sites are full of permanent residents. Looks nice at entrance, then you find out it's a ghetto.

Lady at check-in was very nice, made accommodations for us in a last minute desperate situation.  Pool looks clean, several ppl using it.  Nice area to run and play nearby.
Roads in the park generally ok, a few ruts and larger holes.  Gravel sites, look mostly uneven, but we had no problem leveling.  50amp full hookup but there was only 30amps available for some reason.  Quite a few sites appear long term or semi permanent, but all seem clean and uncluttered.  Bath house needs work; basins and bowls seem clean, the rest of the structure is sagging.  Floors are not very clean
Close to the interstate so there’s some road noise, but not too bad.

Our stay was just overnight. Seemed like several permanents. Spot was tight, steep with low branches. Didn’t help that it had rained the past 4 days and was muddy. Owner was nice   Park needs some TLC

Simply aweful!! Very uneven sites that I couldn't get level with at least a dozen pieces of wood blocks. The highway noise and truck parking area just down the street can keep you awake. The bathrooms/showers were closed and from the looks of them, good thing because there newest residents were flying out from holes in the walls. Thankfully all the full-time units filled up the nicer spaces in the park we wouldn't want them to be put out. My advice, drive thru and look before staying and make sure this is what you want. I was too tired from driving to look for something else and it was late..

We stayed here overnight. Could be a great campground pool looked nice front office store was nice. Bathrooms where closed but that's why we have a RV so we can use our own bathroom. Our campsite was so uneven we was not able to level our 31' class c on it. But some other sites that were full looked okay. They did have equipment there to work on sites, so I think it's a work in progress.  Seemed like new owner trying to fix things up. Took us a while to find the water hook up, it was a 4" pipe sticking out of the ground next to the base of the tree. We didn't have reservations and was there close to dark so we didn't ask for another site, which I'm not sure there was one available.

Campground wasn't bad...if you bring your own restroom and shower.  You get a nice breeze if you park high in spots 64-72. Pool was clean and refreshing. Park is nice but we did not use showers or bathrooms. They would be fine in a pinch ;-)

We stayed one night here while headed out West and it was great. I would definitely stay again. Spacious pull thru spot and plenty of room to walk the dog around. 

Some sites better than others. Much of the campground is seasonal or temporary residents but most were newer or well kept campers, not sketchy at all like some parks that allow "seasonal" residents.
Pool was nice, very large, and was very clean.
Most sites had more space than the park across the interstate.
Park had a lot of room for large rigs.
If you're just pulling in for the night with a class C or a mid to small trailer and you don't plan on using the pool you might be better staying at the state park just a quarter mile down the road, a little cheaper and a little more isolated from the interstate. 

The grounds were nice, but parking space had huge canyon running through it. Looks like ground was washed away by rain.  In serious need to be filled in. Sites are extremely close. Pool water was green with a black ring at the top of the water. Besides the pool and the canyon, it's a decent campground.

Very  well maintained grounds, pool, pond. Friendly and accommodating great stop over. Bathroom need cleaning at least, a makeover at best.
