Happy Traveler RV Park

Love the trees!  Bathhouses were spotless and very roomy!  Will definitely visit when back in the area!!!!

We had come to Tampa and had originally spoken with a different campground who confidently told us they would have a site in the morning without making a reservation. When we got there, they were full. So we called this place ,although the woman on the phone informed me of the campgrounds now require you to be 10 years and newer , she was able to accommodate us with the site for one week, we have a 2007 class a, which is immaculate by the way. All the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Bathhouses, laundry and over all campground was clean and well maintained . Only 3 stars because new owners stress 10yrs or newer but several very old permanent sites. We would definitely stay again . 

I can't add anything more from my past review.  Activities are getting a little old (food trucks, bingo, fires, poker, billiards).  Inconsiderate long term people have multiple cars and make it difficult to get into your spot while they're at work.  Many, many long term and seasonal folks.  Friendly folks.  Three laundries but each each one always has 1-3 machines that don't work.

A 1 month reservation turned into a 3 month stay.  It has the "old Florida" feel about it with spanish moss dripping off the many oaks lining the wide roads.  Many long termers, but no park models, double wides, lanai, or long term camper conversions so it still looks and feels like a campground.  Friendly staff and residents.  Heated pool, daily activities, rec. room with book and DVD library, clean grounds and bath houses, pickleball and shuffleboard courts, horseshoe  pits, 2 fenced dog runs (1 is exceptionally large.  Our golden retriever misses it), food trucks, outdoor movie nights, community fires, pot locks on occasion, no breed or number restrictions on dogs (saw a couple with 4 small dogs and 1 person with a clearly pit bull mix).  Portable propane tank pick up and delivery, stationary propane tank delivery/filling.  Safe with security shack at entrance and on site Manager.  On site cleaning and repair folks.  Close to Tampa's amenities like shopping, restaurants and sightseeing.  Very close to several county parks for biking, fishing, walking, etc.  Good water pressure, +-60 cable TV channels and strong WiFi throughout.

We were scheduled to stay a month but left early because the power was too poor to run air conditioning. When temps are in mid 80s and above the voltage dips below 103 volts and our surge suppressor disconnects power to rv to protect appliances. We were near poopie plant and the smell was awful many times during the day. Neighbor across from us had 3 little dogs that barked all day.  The price we paid was much higher that the value. We stayed in March 2020. Could be nice park if issues were corrected. 

We were due to stay for 2 wks in March but due to  serious health issues we were forced to cancel our entire trip.  They could not have been more helpful with our cancellation process.  We have stayed here  the past 2 winters and this would have made #3 .  If the health issues improve we will definitely be there next March.  Love this place and the people running it. 

Owner very nice we were gonna stay 2 nights but ended up staying 4 and they juggled things around and fixed it so we could stay in our spot two extra nights

We stayed here for eight nights in February.  The sites are located around many large oak trees giving it a very picturesque look.  The sites are close to each other but we were able to get our 43' fifth wheel into the site and park our truck next to the RV with no issues.  We had over 80 channels on the over the air channels and the 60 channel cable worked great.  Wifi was very good on our site.  The park is a mix of permanent and temporary residents.  Everyone was very friendly.  The location was great to reach sites in downtown Tampa.  I would definitely stay again.  

We stayed here for three days, very cozy and quaint. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The pool was awesome! We will stay again if we are in the area!

Our 2nd time here and so pleased with the park.  Office staff was supper friendly and accommodating. Made sure that we were close to the other couple traveling with us.   Just wish we could have stayed longer.   Maybe next year

We spent a week here and found it to work just great.  Can't say enough for how friendly the staff and other campers were.  We were there mostly just to sleep as we had lots of things to do in the area.  Easy access from the interstate.   Sites were not huge but more than enough room for our 32 ft class C, car and tow dolly.  Should we ever go back to that area we will for sure stay at Happy Traveler.

Like the sign says it is an RV park. They do not allow pop up campers, truck campers, converted cargo trailers or tent camping. 

Monthy here is $400 for the summer months Apr-Sep and $600 for Oct-Mar. If you want the whole winter season it is $2400 for 6 months. Cable is not free here. It was quite pricey. Wifi is included. Most of the park is well shaded except for the newer section. There is a newer laundry and shower bldg and an RV wash area back there also. Mgmt is nice and helpful. They do an escort service to direct you to your site. If they are closed the escort will show you several sites that are available. The park has security at the front when the office is closed and they patrol the park all night long. It was very quiet the two months we stayed. They have a large community room with kitchen for potluck dinners, games, large screen tv, books, etc. I saw mostly older folks here but there are younger people there also. Darrell lives in the park and does RV maintenance work.

Started off with a extremely rude lady in the office during check in. The grounds guy went on to express his inappropriate political views while showing me the site. We eventually decided to leave, after taking to the rude lady in the office she turned into an extreme bitch and threatened to call the police on me when I pleaded for my money to be returned, all I asked was to see the no refund written and she's got frustrated and couldn't find it.. So I wound up getting my money minus our deposit.. We never even plugged in.

This is a 55+ park only. No kids allowed. 

While I did not camp here, I did find it on RV Parky and went to dump my tanks. While there I inquired about someone to wash my motorhome. Luckily, Darrell was available. He was also able to connect me with a mobile RV repairman, Kurt, to replace my water pump. The dealership in Nokomis had said it would be mid-April before they could get me in. Kurt was working in Happy Traveler, had the exact same pump, and fixed it in less than 30 minutes. WooHoo!
Nice enough pool area. Bathhouse was clean, but a bit dated. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. Might consider staying in the future. 

Everyone was so friendly here. Especially pet friendly. Laundry & bath was nice. Wi-Fi hooked up fast & easy. Really enjoyed our stay here.
