Grand Island Walmart Supercenter

We got to Walmart around 5 and there were a lot of semis parked for the night already. We parked in front of one and another one parked next to us. When the one in front of us left in the morning we saw a sign that was blocked from our view that said no over night parking.

So this is a large property with fuel station/travel center across the street. Its, a fairly level lot, clean, well maintained and well lit. I was able to access the Walmart wifi from the outer perimeter of the parking lot. Full bars of Verizon 4G LTE (Roaming). This particular Walmart is kind of like a Truck Stop, there were over a dozen big rigs and a handful of RV's  overnighting. As always, I left my area cleaner than when I arrived and made an in store purchase to thank Walmart for allowing me to overnight. 

Lots of room, felt safe, clean & big Walmart. Nice people. Approx 4-5 miles off 80 but definitely worth it! Main highway to get there. 

South end of lot closed for resurfacing, maybe that would have made a difference.  Parking lot packed full of trucks by 9pm. Went down by auto center (NE corner) to get away from semis. But we were right next to a busy 4 lane road and heard Jake brakes all night. Then the parking lot sweeper came at 4am, which sounded like a freight train! Not a restful night.

This parking lot does not settle down. I felt like our rv was constantly surrounded by quads & motorcycles. It’s flat and somewhere to sleep but doesn’t feel suuuuper safe. 

Went in and spoke with the very nice gentleman manager. He made us welcome and gave us permission to park on the south side along the grass so we could put the slide out. Good supply of RV supplies stocked. Got a new blue water filter. Typical noise from trucks and highway over night. 

Perfect spot to park for the night and do some shopping in the morning. No shade or wind block.

Yes, lots of semis with engines running, but that doesn’t bother us too much. Kind of a white noise. No problems.

The lot is huge. Lots of big rigs and a couple rv's. The side you park on is next to a 2 lane highway, so it's extremely noisy.  But it's free...what more could you ask for?  The store is a Super Walmart and is very clean and well stocked.

We stayed here in a 41' fifth wheel.   Pulled in around 5pm on a Monday and it was easy to navigate the entrance and the large lots. It was very level, they had the most plush grass I've seen at a Wal-Mart. There were a handful of trucks and 1 other rv.  I felt safe here and would stay again.

Nice lot plenty of space of RVers. Probably 10 different RV, next to us was several semi parked as well. Nice lawn area in front of store for dogs! Pulled in around 1130 pm, quiet throughout the night. Park on the garden center away from the after hours doors. Would stay again.

Super place.  Large parking lot, lush grass, pleasant employees.  Lots of trucks on the side nearest auto.  Fairly easy off the height way and an alternate route back on if heading East.  Thanks again Walmart!
