Fort Wallace RV Park

What a hidden gem! Our short overnight stay was absolutely perfect. Full hookup, first come-first serve, $30 a night, but only 4 sites. Super quiet though a train might roll through during the day but nothing passed by the night we were there. If you have kids, there is a nice playground set and a shareable fire pit and shared pavilion picnic tables. I would definitely stay here again if I’m traveling through Kansas. Nicely done Fort Wallace RV Park!

We stopped here 1 night and enjoyed a local restaurant called the Farm House.  We had prime rib which was very good and reasonable.  We had full hookups felt this was a nice stop for $30 a night.  

This has been the easiest and nicest experience. A great stop after two days on the road. Hook ups, hot shower and air conditioning after roughing it in a Walmart parking lot. The best $30 ever!

We spent a night here on our way to Colorado. We were pleasantly surprised with a good playground and a welcoming town. We walked to the local coffee shop, meeting many members of the community along the way. Coffee was great, people were friendly. There is a good bit of history on places around the town as well. We will definitely stay here again should the need arise.

Peaceful and quiet 

Such a neat spot to stop. Visually interesting and huge night skies. 4 spots and we were the only ones here. Such a great solitary spot to stop over for the night and the kids loved all the room to run around. 

My 13 year old want to photograph some stars and I was tired of the interstate.  Found this on rv parky.  Great drive on 40 from the west.  Lots of antelope grazing beside the road. Arrived after dark.  There is a small sign directing you.  The 4 sites are located north of the concrete silos and east of the limestone house.  Take the dirt path south then bend back north to pull in on of the slots.  It is all grass. A bit bumpy but fine if u go slow.  Full hookups including 30 and 50 amp.  Water pressure is very good.  Might consider using pressure  reducer.  Little kiosk.  Put cash or check in envelope.  Can leave in security box or at museum.  Lots of stars.  Some local lighting detracts some but milky way visible.  Right now silos are a little noisy because harvest season in full swing but that is to be expected.  Don't sit directly on the ground  without a blanket or something.  Lots of little burrs and stickers.  I would return if in the area. Also have 4g Verizon connection with no issues. 

Stayed one night on way to Colorado. 4 spots, FULL hookup, only $25. Nothing there but a railroad museum. I love Kansas,so this out of the way place was perfect. Also, it rained the day before we arrived, but it was not bad. Rained over 2" the night we stayed...no problem with ground. It is grass, but good drainage I guess. Talked to Vernon F who maintains it and they plan to add gravel.  Want to see stars? Stay here, the sky is full of them!!

Not bad for a stop over if you don't mind staying on grassy farmland in what looks like an abandoned railroad town. Not much else around for miles. Called ahead and talked to Deborah who was very helpful. Grabbed dinner at Penny's diner 10miles up the road before heading here for the night while driving x-country eastbound. Have to hang a left at the road before the museum, cross the RR tracks and the place is a bit hard to spot since there are only the hookup posts out in a field. FHU looked brand new and worked well. Place would be much better with paved pads or gravel because the sites looked like problems when it rains but we had no issues getting in/out dry. Only 4 RV spots and we were here solo minus another group was staying in the railroad house next to the RV camp. Pay by drop box on site $25 cash/check.

Quiet, clean with views of the surrounding farms and community. Historical markers along the streets explaining the history of this town. We loved it and will return if ever this way again.

Small, quiet, full hookup, pull thru sites on grassy prairie. Perfect, beautiful overnight stay on our way west.
