Fort Mountain State Park

Came in October for 3 nights site 68 pull thru.  Flat gravel spacious shaded.  Park is nice but campsite road narrow and hilly with potholes and loose gravel.  The is NO cable even though there is cable hookup at each site even host told us this as well.  WiFi only at front desk and Verizon was terrible.  We did get ota tv channels.  Restrooms clean, trash bear cans close by, gray water dumps throughout.  RV dump has two stations on the way out of cg.  We hiked trails to overlooks which were nice easy.  Putt putt or paddle boats were not open but I guess you could use if you brought your own equipment.  18 miles down mt to Ellijay.  We did see bears in cg.  

Nice park, very well-maintained other than keeping the sites level. We have a 36 ft 5th wheel and our site barely accommodated us. Front as far down as possible and back as far up as possible. Other than that, really nice... Oh... and don’t expect cell service or WIFI here. But, that wasn’t a huge deal on this trip.

If you're not used to mountain driving, it would be a  scary drive. Enjoyed the hiking and the scenery. Campsites are nicely spaced.

Decent amount of space between sites. Excellent electric and water service. Two spots at the dump station to help on that morning when everyone is leaving. Clean sites, many pull thrus, lots of space. Quiet at night. Would definitely return!

Great location. Tight roads and RV sites are tight as well for a large 5th wheel. Nice trails, lake, and playground area. No sewer, but dump station easy to get to on the way out. 

This park is our local favorite . We really enjoy the amenities at the State Park. Most of these sites are level and well maintained. there is plenty of things to do in the park

Very well kept park......not a lot of sites for big rigs but it can be done...the road to the park is a twisty mountain road.....might have to take it slow but will make it

Very nice park! Lots of wildlife. Many outdoors activities to do here. Love the trails! Great staff. Much history to this area as well. Worth a stay

One the best state parks anywhere. Trails galore for hiking, biking and horses. Breathtaking views and lots of wildlife.
