E.G. Simmons Regional Park

18 per night for water and electric. No sewer available.  Quiet place.  Raccoon gangs out at dusk to get in dumpsters. Park rangers came every morning to clean any mess they made.  We arrived at 7 am and 4th in line. Received call at 9:45 that they had a spot for us.  We could haveboondocked outside gate 

Sites were big. They grass was knee high and the sand spurs were plenty. We went in July so it was super hot.  We had a screen room to hang out in so the mosquitoes and noseeums were tolerable. The water access was awesome and we would definitely go back. I  like how it's first come first serve and not reservations. 

February stay, with camper trailer. We really loved this place, but I only give it 3 stars because it was so buggy we couldn’t even have a fire at night. Little tiny cream colored gnats. So small they can get through the screens. When they bite they leave big welts. 
And the Raccoons are so weird and out 24/7. They tried to climb on top of our camper and they climbed into the back of the truck. Leaving muddy tracks all over. 
The camp sites are nice and big. Lots of space between each site. Clean bathrooms. Lots of great places to bike. Beautiful beach. Great playground for the kids. 
We’ll be back. Just with more bug spray 😂

We took our 2nd trip out close to home. If you want a nice place to stay E.G. Simmons Park Campground in Ruskin, Fl. It is right on Tampa Bay. Sites are large. Most are double in size. Quiet. Clean! Bring your Kayaks, bikes even a boat. There is a beach, playground, clean bathrooms, fishing dock, boat ramp and lots of picnic areas. The only downfall was the noseeums so bring a screened in area to sit in!
First come first.

This is a nice park with full water and power hookups, 30 am 50 amp.
There is a small beach and boat launches. Quiet and a fairly easy drive to get to. 

Loved this park, quiet, clean restrooms, beach, kayak rentals and several sites available with access to the "canoe trail". Even had a real treat along the way as we saw 5 or 6 manatees feeding in the quiet waters off the bay.  

Lugar tranquilo e bonito! Fecha às 18:00. Chegamos 17:59 e não foi possível entrar, porém, o segurança nos orientou a ficar em frente. Foi super tranquilo! O parque abre às 08:00, e às 06:00 os carros começaram a chegar. Como eu estava na frente, fui a primeira da fila. Fui muito bem atendida e gostei muito do lugar. Além de toda beleza, existe uma praia para relaxar! 

We stayed one night and everything was awesome except the no see ums. Which nothing that park can do about. Great spot for kids as they have a good swimming spot and play areas. Fishing was good too. Showers were clean and staff were awesome! Theu were very accommodating. Spots are close together and no sewer hook up but we would definitely come.back! 

Great place. Clean with nice sites. Some near the water with views of mangroves.  Water and electric for $18. They gave us a map with open sites marked. Drove around and picked our spot. Love it! A hidden gem. We’ll be back. 

I would have given this a 5 star but this morning I went outside the motorhome to enjoy my cup of coffee while the air was cool and that lasted about 5 minutes between biting ants n no see ups they ran me back into the safety of the coach.  It is beautiful here though but I warn about the insects choose your site as many don’t have much shade 

$18 if you're over 55, $24 for everyone else. Spacious sites, however if you are camping, you will be inundated with BUGS - no-seeums....ALL NIGHT. If you have the safety of an RV, you are probably ok, but camping is a nightmare. 

The best spot and the price is right. The folks who winter down here are delightful. Yes. There are bugs. This is Florida. No reservations though so you'd better get down here early or you'll miss out!

The price is great, $18 if over 55. Plenty of sites with shade and nice clean bathrooms/showers. However, I have a dog with medium length hair and within 2 minutes she was full of prickers and stick tights!

This is a fantastic county park with 2 camping areas.  Some sites are on the water and the ones in the East campground are quite large.  Restrooms are clean and a lot of them.  There’s places to boat, kayak, fish, beach and playground. Rates are reasonable, but no reservations so it can be difficult to get a spot especially during snowbird season.  No see ums are there but bug spray helped.

Nice park with good size sites, the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the blond headed lady that says she is the park manager. She is rude hateful and should not be in a position dealing with the public.

i loved it then again I went in winter time a little bit of no see ums but other wise great, fishing is easy as some sites have a canal on the rear. kids have plenty of parks. pets are welcomed at no extra charge.

Huge level sites with water and 30 amp electric. $28 or $18 over 55. We stayed here in a 40 ft motorhome.
