Eagle Cliff Campground & Lodging

We stayed here during the week.  It’s a beauty of a campground.  Lots of amenities, right on the Root River, and bicycle trails.  The grounds are immaculate. Very impressive.  Plenty to do and see. 

Beautifully manicured RV park right on the Root River, with grassy sites for water/electric only, gravel sites w some pull-thrus for full hookups. Sites are close and tow vehicles needed to park in overflow parking. Didn’t allow carpets or mats, but the pristine lawn made it well worth it. Loved this place! They rent tubes/kayaks and provide shuttles to their own put-in/take-out areas. Volleyball, children's playground, event center (did not see inside). Seasonal residents are grouped in a separate area, but are beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained. Laundry was small but clean, as were restrooms (a LONG walk from lower loops). After the very full weekend, most campers left and we had our entire loop to ourselves. Magnificent! Efficient and accommodating staff. The owners are friendly and working constantly. Their attention to detail and pride of ownership shows. Slight negative: all interior roads are gravel, so dust can be an issue during dry times. Neverthless, after a 4-week tour of MN, this CG stood out as our favorite.
Bikers will enjoy the Root River State Trail (accessed by riding less than a mile on Hwy 16 to Whalan). Very well-maintained paved bike trail, quaint towns along the way. Unfortunately, both theaters in Lanesboro were closed for covid during our stay, so no plays. Spent one morning touring local Amish farms, purchasing hand-made products. Instructions, history, and information provided on rented jump drive or CD. 

Love this campground!! The sites are big with extra “field” areas for kids to play, along with 2 playgrounds. The whole family can ride bikes, kayak,canoe, or inner tube down the Root River. The speed limit if 5 mph is strictly enforced for everyones safety.

Great campground on the Root river lacks WiFi and cable but just about the cleanest and park like you will ever stay at

Have stayed here a dozen times by now, wonderful people and a beautiful camping experience by the river
