Doheny State Beach

I stayed here in June for 3 days! It was a great place, everyone was so nice, the beach was super close and the facilities were nice and clean 

Sure it’s pricey but the first rule of real estate is: location, location, location. Couldn’t avoid paying the online fee by showing up in person. The guy was on lunch but was helpful when he returned. The camping fee covers day use until 8pm on departure day so I’m writing this while sunbathing on the beach in November. No complaints here!

Right on the beach.  $40 a night or $60 on the water you get a spot.  Baths are clean and showers good. Some spots are private that is a plus

No one will talk to you, you have to go there, to confront some one for help 

Great location just a few steps to the Beach, no hookups, restrooms not the best

Great staff. No hookups. Great location on beach. BUT the California reservation system is terrible. I would avoid all California state parks for that reason. All the rangers agreed the system is ridiculous. 

Spots were level, ocean front spots great view and breeze.
Walk to Dana Point Harbor to shops, restaurant, boating,  sailing,  fishing etc
