Dakota Campground

We stopped in Mitchell for the night and opted for this stop rather than Walmart. Ended up staying 2 extra nights due to high winds. Josh and Rhonda were very accommodating and made everything really easy. Great to work with!
Mature trees throughout and convenient to Cabela’s, Walmart and many restaurants. 

Stayed two days. Didn’t find the gal who was in office all that friendly as people had posted in prior reviews. Camp site had full hook ups and was nicely mowed grass with gravel pad. Shower and bathroom facility was nice and clean and well kept. Didn’t use WiFi. Lots of noisy pickup trucks from 530am - 6am. Not sure if they were leaving to work or leaving and coming back within the half hour to 45 mins that I heard them but it was loud, like loud exhausts. Also had some cats around as they don’t believe in spaying/neutering them so they had kittens. Overall would stay again for the price. Good spot not far off I90 when traveling to the Black Hills. Also, swimming pool Was closed for season.

Nice shaded level sites. Pulled in and didn’t detach the site was level.  WIFi worked well. Got a couple TV Channels with antenna. Quick on an off I90. Friendly staff. They were able to handle 42 ft class A

Great, friendly staff.  Level spots and accommodating for our big rig.  Owner even moved our location when she saw us pull in to make our entrance and exit easier.

First park coming from west that had trees. Site clean level Pool clean but not heated.  We would stay again

Stopped here for a night and it had such a cozy feel. Tons of shade trees and super nice staff. Only $34 with 30 amp site and $38 for 50 amp full hookups . Cute & clean . We didn’t use WiFi or bathrooms, etc. 

Nice shady spots in the trees and a grass pad. Host was very nice. Stay the night for a quick rest.

one of the best family campground we have stayed at. This place is just beautiful and you can tell the owners care about the place. Grass is green and cut, sites are level and straight. Easy access and just amazing. 

We extended our stay here.  The sites were very nice and level, several pull through sites.  Lots of big trees for shade, gravel road is in great shape as are the gravel sites.  Laundry room is small, only 2 small washers (75 cents a load), 2 small dryers (50 cents gets you an hour).  Nice playground for the kids.  We’d stay here again.

Very nice location, just off I-90. Staff was friendly and helpful...and they stay until 9:00pm! Sites are gravel, but level. Shower/bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Will stay here again. 

Clean, friendly campground with long level pull thru sites...  we didn't need to unhook for the night.  Shade trees and grass kept it cool and room for dog walks  good wi-fi - didn'tneed to set up starlink.. . .Laundry small but clean and cheap. Would stay again when in the area. 

This is a small family run park, they do a great job.  I only spent one night there, so I didn't use any of the facilities, but I would definitely stay here again. Very convenient to the highway, but still quiet.
Too early for the pool to be open, they have a small playground for youngsters.

Owner met me at office when I arrived nice then showed my to our site nice and quiet  bathroom was clean nice place don’t overlook

The owner greeted us at the office. We made a same day reservation and they were so accommodating. The park had laundry facilities that were great. It was quiet and we thought beautiful with all the trees. Went by the Corn Palace but it was closed. 🥲 Took the advise of another reviewer and had dinner at the Cattlemen’s Steak House. Excellent food and service. Would definitely stay at the RV park again. 

We stayed one night in site 20 with our 40’ 5th wheel. Had a pool but it was too cool and we were not here long enough to use. Very shady throughout but I feel for them as they are mostly ash trees. The ash borer hasn’t been through yet😬. Walmart was close by. Had a great breakfast at Marlin’s nearby before heading home. Plenty of room to get in and out and good FHU. The price was so cheap! Felt like we were robbing them. Would stay here again.

This was  a good stop. The sites were large and level.  Lots of shade. Only down fall was all was dirt.
The campground was changing hands the nights we stayed. Can't coment on the new management,  but the old owner was nice and friendly.

Good sam discount, full hookup, can take big rigs, pull through. Its a keeper

Excellent endroit où stopper pour une nuit. Petit camping tranquille avec des propriétaires supers gentils et avenants. Salle de bain, douche sont très propres. Si vous avez besoin de faire du lavage, c’est vraiment pas cher! Tout est abordable et situé près des commerces.

Stayed one night. Quiet and close to walmart and other shops.

Only overnight. Very small friendly staff.  Restrooms and showers and property are clean and well maintained, water pressure is good. 

We have stayed at Dakota twice while passing thru Mitchell.  It is a nice RV park, big, level sites. Nothing fancy but more than adequate.  Easy access to the interstate yet not right on the interstate and the town of Mitchell.  

Stopped her while passing through.  Friendly staff, nice sites, plenty of shade.  Easy in and out.  Pool and a small store, but perfect for what we needed.  

Rustic, but in a good way. Sites are roomy and shaded. Laundry is basic but very functional, and where else can you wash and dry for 75 cents each?! Easy access from I-90, but far enough away to not have traffic noise. Pool was not open, no biggie for us. We enjoyed the free internet. The office was closed so didn’t meet any employees, and didn’t use the bathrooms or showers so can’t comment on that. Would definitely stay here again. 

Outside of Mitchell, SD. Large, shaded sites. Bathhouse could use some upgrades

Very quiet park with lots of trees and grass between spaces. Level sites. Good cell phone signal so didn’t need WiFi. 

Perfect spot, nice, clean, shade trees. We stayed one night on our way back home to Georgia. I’m not sure what is near by this campground but I would recommend it !

Looks like it might have been a KOA in a former life.  Dirt site with a little gravel, was pretty level. Glad it didn't rain while we were here...i'm sure it would have been a muddy mess if it had. Had a clean looking pool that was open.. 
Wide, pull-thru site with full hook'ups. Park was pretty full. Not much else around to choose from. Very easy to get to Corn Palace and grocery store. Worked just fine for an overnight stay.

Was just OK.  Allowed tent campers anywhere in campground.  Understaffed while we were there.

Liked  the shade trees & quietness.  Staff very cordial!

Ez on/off I-90.  Close to Walmart.  Long, level sites.  Lots of shade trees.  Clean, older bathrooms.  FHU 50 amp $32 with Good Sam discount.  Stayed in 34 foot fifth wheel.

Park seemed laid back. Lots of trees, and a feeling of an escape.

Good for overnight, right off I-90.  Lots of mature trees and some grass for walking our dog.  Bathrooms and showers were older, but clean.  Pool closed while we were there.  Pretty quiet for being close to the highway.  Owner on site and very friendly!

Convenient to I90.  Clean and spacious sites. Shower house was spotless.  Easy trip to downtown to see the Corn Palace.  $27 with GS for full hook-ups;

Would definitely return clean, shady, quiet. We also enjoyed the pool. We give it 5 stars.

Stopped for an overnight with a 38 foot 5th wheel. We had plenty of room in a long pull through that was level and wide. Great utilities and a lot of well trimmed shade trees. Would definitely stay again.

This is great place to stop right off the 90. Older campground but very nice staff. Lots of trees made it nice on a hot day,clean pool. Would stop again when passing through.Close to a great selection of restaurants, and good WiFi. 

Owner is very nice and accommodating. Needs more gravel on roads and sites. Became muddy after rain. Adding more gravel would be a huge improvement. Poor water pressure.

This certainly isn't a 5 star RV resort, but it was well kept, good hookups, level, and priced right.  If you need a night or two off the road you won't be disappointed in the value here.

Very nice owner.  Too many trees for our satellite and no cable.  One spot near the front for our 45 foot coach.  All roads and spots are gravel and dirt.  Nice play area and a very nice pool.  Average bathroom.

I would not stay here again. Lost some paint on the side of my class A motorhome below the roof line due to some low 
hanging branches. Owner said there was nothing he could do. About $500.00 worth of damage, at least.

Nice stop right on 90...theres no camp marker on exit but it is exit 330..exit off its right there n walmart 2miles away

Pretty, level campground, spacious. Gravel driveway with grass between the sites. Staff was very helpful and work at keeping it clean and neat. Would stay here again.

This is a very nice park with lots of trees.  Quiet and comfortable at a good  price.   Wide, level spaces. 

Friendly spot right off hwy 90 exit 330 so side of hwy.  level, easy in and out, close to a great selection of restaurants,  will stay there again when traveling west, and on the way home
