Cranes Mill Park COE

We stayed here on our way to Az.
Site #11, was decent and large. The grass was very tall and they were just getting ready to start their mowing season.
Nice views of the lake.
Sites are spaced out nicely and the hosts, volunteers and workers were nice.

Very strict on the arrival times though.
W/E only but dump station is nice.

Very strict on the arrival time. Other than that we didn’t encounter any problems. Unfortunately, the lake is extremely low. Sites are very large. They do lock the gates at night but that wasn’t an issue for us. If you don’t make it back to camp by 9, there is parking outside the gate. Overall, it’s a small quiet park with electric and water. Town for supplies is close by. Austin and San Antonio an hour away. Would definitely return!

Some hosts are very strict to deny early access, others...not so much! Lots of small barking dogs that owners made no attempt to quiet during my stay. Lake was really low. Spent time exploring the Hill Country even close enough for a quick trip to San Antonio.

Rate reflects America The Beautiful/Access Pass.  Arrived about 3:30 PM as you cannot check in before 3:00 PM. Check in was quick and easy. We were not provided with a map nor rules sheet but the info is on park info boards and it's such a small park, you don't need a map. We had no problem backing into site 17 with water & 50/30 AMP. Water pressure was good. We did have to be careful when backing in as there was a trash dumpster at the entrance of the site. The sites here are huge and the cement pad is long plus there’s a parking space for a vehicle or boat. All the RV sites have water & electric. Most RV sites looked level, but there were a couple of interior sites that had a slight hill. There was a fire ban so no fires but grills either propane or charcoal were allowed. We received a few OTA channels but there was a clear shot to the southern sky for satellite. We got 2 bars on Verizon and with our JetPack we could get internet, call, and text service. There was no formal dog area but we could walk down to the boat ramp and through the tent area. Early each morning there were deer wondering throughout the park. Fishing was also decent off the shore. If I had my kayak, it would have been fairly easy to launch behind the camp site.

Very nice clean and safe park.   On the lake off the beaten path.   Water electric 50/30 & dump station.  Marinas and boat launch.  Sites are spacious.  We were in 3, but several on the lake.  Concrete site with a space to park car.  Grill and  picnic table shelter.  Deer 🦌 here.  

Very nice park. Saw lots of deer. Concrete pad parking with plenty of space. Staff was pleasant enough at gate other than that no interactions with them. Was quiet and peaceful. Showers were dated but clean. Dumpsters new and never overflowing. Cell coverage was 1-2 bars on both AT&T and Verizon. OTA TV was good too. 👍 
We would stay again. 

Very nice place on the lake!  Would come back!

Fully enjoyed this park in our 30 pull behind.   Nice spacing between sites.  Covered table and benches.  Fire pit and bbq pit.   Quiet, serene and great view of the lake.  Friendly staff.  

Saw recommendation on Texas RV Facebook. Made res. Night before. Showed up two hours early. Was told could not check in. Paid $30 and was let in. Lol. Very clean! Very open. Very peaceful. Love it!! 

Stayed four nights, very peaceful not many campers. We left on a Friday so the weekends might be busy, like they are at campgrounds. The only negative is the dump station, the inlets are 8 inches higher than the road, may be difficult for the older lower campers.

Been here 16 hours and dogs are covered in burrs. Grass is grown up from lack of mowing. Called COE office and they said it was mowed in May and June apparently only once a month by contractor. They don’t mind taking your money but don’t maintain the property. Would be a nice facility if properly maintained. 

Beautiful clean camp areas. 
Rest Rooms also clean and kept up. Definitely a 5 star camp ground. 

Very nice facilities. As with most COE parks staff is rude and or indifferent. We only use them because of the golden age pass discount and usual proximity to lakes. As long as you don’t interact with the staff they can be very enjoyable. We like being able to reserve specific sites but can be a double edge sword if you pick one with problems since they won’t let you move. Would stay here again just wish they were more accommodating. 

When camping would campers start posting picture of campground map so fellow campers can see area. Thank you! Fellow camper 🚍
