Cracker Barrel West Valley - I-215 Exit 18A

I spoke with the officer who knocked on our van (Winnebago Travato 2021 motorhome in excellent condition). Evidently Cracker Barrel called the police to request they come out and tell everyone to leave - based in the City ordinance. So even if you go inside to this CB and ask if you can stay overnight, and if they say “yes” doesn’t mean you really can or should. The officer said it’s due to the folks that are staying/living in cars in the lot. But sucks for the rest of us just boondocking for a night.

I almost always look for a CB! Mainly because I love their friendly RV parking and their food. My reason for the two star is the food is always good. The over night NOT so much. There was someone sleeping on their car in the parking lot at 11:00pm when we pulled in. There was what appeared to be a homeless man walking around the parking lot screaming curse words and scared the life out of us at 5:00 AM as he was standing right next to our RV. When I mustered up the courage to leave the RV to go talk to the staff once they are removed, they simply said we are aware of him and we will call it in. So this is a person who has been around for awhile. You can almost assume he will be in the area if we returned. He was very unstable and kept swinging things around like he was in. A fight with himself. We were very afraid he was going to either try and enter our RV or damage the outside. This location is like all other CB’s and is right next to an on ramp. There is a little noise but nothing we aren’t use to for traffic. Please be alert and aware of your surroundings. When it doesn’t feel right…. It most likely isn’t. 

Easy Breezy Stay!  Nice area, safe and great good!  First time trying a Cracker Barrel and we are so impressed with their hospitality.  Little noisy as it's by a freeway but not a big deal.  

Great location and very tidy.  Noisy but nice.  There is some strange activity, people lying in the grass and wandering aimlessly, occurring by the hotel so we recommend parking in the assigned RV parking spots.  Peace

We have stayed here multiple times. Some noise from the interstate as the on ramp is next to the parking lot. Food was good. Manager said it was ok to park in back. There seems to always be a decent population of people sleeping in their cars. From what I can tell there are not many places for a stop like this in Salt Lake. Walmarts do not allow overnight parking!! So it either here or the truck stops!! We did have one individual that woke us up in our sleep walking by our RV. He appeared to be under the influence of a drug and was half clothed and screaming foul language. This area is close to Maverick Center and a decent amount of hotels. We always eat breakfast or
Dinner based on our arrival or departure times. If you drive up the street there are some lower hanging trees. Enough room for our motorhome to get by though. 

Quiet in a nice area felt very safe being a solo female traveler.

One of the nicest CBs I’ve stayed at - and I have been to many across the states. I’m in a 21 foot rig. Verizon and T-Mobile were strong enough to hold online meetings and work. 

Safe:  Yes we felt very safe. 
A few RVs were there as well as us. 

Quiet:  Some traffic sounds but I slept fine. 

I called ahead and spoke to the manager to ask about staying overnight and he said yes, we could. We parked in the back in one of the RV/Bus spots and left the next morning after having breakfast when they opened at 7am. 

. . . Found this CB a very nice boondock. It is surrounded by hotels. The streets approaching the store are heavily tree lined. Use caution if you're in a class A coach. I did not have any clearance issues getting my class A in to the lot. 
    A briskets 'n' gravy breakfast in the morning can't be beat.

Called around lunch time to ask if overnight parking was allowed, and was told "sure! Come on over!". The parking lot was a little bit of a challenge (we are 45 ft with a toad", but my husband managed to swing her around after we unhooked the jeep.  We had read as many good reviews of the restaurant as bad, so we were a little leery.  I am happy to report that the service was excellent (our waitress was Brooke) and so was our food (fried chicken and the Sunday pot roast special).  They ask that you park in the back of the lot, which is right up against the highway, but manageable. Thanks, Cracker Barrel!

Stayed for one night got in about 8 PM. Nice level lots in back of store. There were for four other RVs. Thank you Cracker Barrel for being such a gracious host

Great overnight spot, plenty of lighting and other campers.  I called ahead and the manager (Sandra I think) was very nice.  

Next morning we had an awesome breakfast, Kevin our waiter, was fantastic.  Best hash brown casserole ever!  

I thanked the morning manager for the stay, and she told us that it actually helps them out too keep down theft, win—win!

If you camp overnight in these places, please ensure to take your trash with you.  Your RV family will thank you! ☺️

Excellent one night stay in the Cracker Barrel parking lot (4/2/21). Some highway noise, but we slept very soundly. 

It was close to the highway but not too loud. There was one other camper and a van who overnighter there. No issues at all. 

Spoke to the Manager and he assured me overnight parking is once again allowed, and no need to let anyone know that you are staying there.

Near noisy freeway. RV parking desinated in the rear. Nice and safe area.

Per WVC Police Dept. On 4/1/20, overnight parking or "camping" isn't allowed in West Valley City, ANYWHERE.

Called ahead and were told overnight parking is allowed. Pulled in around 11 pm, we were the only ones in the parking lot.  Parking is on backside of the building and close to the interstate.  The noise from the on-ramp (when vehicles accelerated up the ramp) could get a bit loud. Overall, this was an easy and comfortable spot to stop. 

Pulled in and found RV spaces available.  As a matter of fact nobody was there but there was a welcome sign for rvers.  We ate breakfast there in the morning.  Way better than Walmart.  You will find not a single Walmart allows overnight use in Salt Lake.  This was a blessed find late at night.

Arrived around 8 pm. The manager said it was ok for us to park overnight. The parking lot is next to the highway but the road noise didn’t bother us. Maverik Center is just down the street but there was no crowd.  Would stay here again.
