Bradenton / Hunsader Farms KOA

I’d say 3 stars for summer camp, but it might make 4 stars in cool weather. 
The advertised game room was closed because “kids trashed it”. Could have easily been maintained properly, have a rule that parents supervise, and have it locked with a key code. Instead, they put a ping pong table and broken corn hole out in the direct sun. No bean bags or ping pong supplies available. The advertised “obstacle course” was old and broken down in an un-maintained area with long grass with lots of venomous snakes in the area. Not worth the search for it. 
The play ground has no shade. Something that should always be installed for Florida playgrounds. 
Our camp site had approximately 11 inches of shade, but the KOA had many open sites with the same hookups we got that were full shade. Not sure why they don’t choose best sites available. 
I probably won’t camp here again. At least in summer. Possible check it out in winter. 
WiFi worked excellent, and there was a large dog run area for those with pets, but also no shade there. 

This should be your last camping choice in the area. The water smell is horrid and worse when warm for a shower. Owners need to invest more money and quit halfway fixing stuff as it shows. Game room has no workable equipment and everything shuts down very early if it’s operating at all. Prepare to pay extra for everything. Farm attached is run down and animals cages are disgusting. 

UPDATE-The KOA just received approval to construct a pool, lazy river and add 100more sites.
We never really like KOA's for a variety of reasons, but for a variety of reasons we sometimes end up in them.  This working farm KOA was a refreshing change.  Large sites with a good solid base of stone/shell that are generally level, nice large and modern bathrooms, produce stand, antique store, old western town theme, train rides, fishing pond, unique rental units, petting zoo, snack shack, ice cream stand, ... all on premises.  No pool was the only drawback. There is a shaded area, a pull-thru site section, and a back-in section.  Laundry was clean and inexpensive.  Gated with security code keypad.  Playground for kids away from the RV's.  Huge dog run and well maintained landscaping.  Bonus for the winery just down the road.  10 minute ride for groceries, restaurants, etc.

Girls on the Loose 2023. Brought my friend who had never been camping. Splurged on a deluxe patio site. Great patio, with table, chairs, propane bbq, and propane fire pit.  This is a farm setting, with u-pick vegetables and a beautiful (this time of year) wildflower field! If you don’t have a tow vehicle, it is a very long walk to the farm area. We had electric bikes, so super fun! 
The campground itself is clean, with very nice, clean bathhouses. There are several ways to camp here including covered wagons and other cabin type camping. Expensive for what you get. Most don’t have water, bathrooms, or kitchens. Not my cup of tea. Pretty rustic looking. 
There is no pool here, which would have given this a 5 star campground for me! It is very hot here in Bradenton!
I would definitely come here again! 

This is one of the first KOAs that actually has space between the sites. Sites are gravel and sand and grass.  There are shelters with bbq grills and tables for large gatherings. The game room is a nice feature for our teen grandkids although not all the machines were in working order. Great playground. 
The huge clean dog park is the best feature. 

The problem areas are which is why the 4 stars; ; the pond is virtually dried up with dead fish and vultures swarming over head, the obstacle course for the kids is worn out and in disrepair.  The train was not running, there are large spikes sticking up from the railroad ties surrounding the silo. More attention should be made toward the children's equipment since this is a family oriented campground. 

We stayed here 4 nights. This is a working vegetable farm, with a market, petting zoo and other activities. The crew were excellent at communication and loved the coffee camper. Would definitely recommend. 

We stayed here in March 2022. LOVED IT! Big sites (not like the avg KOA), working farm with local produce & meats, camp store, antiques, locally mined gems & rocks, petting zoo, snack shack grill, safari animals, pond, ducks. Quiet, rural setting. Really fun barns & mini train depot. New gorgeous bathrooms. Lots of space to walk. Huge grassy dog park. A lil pricey but on par with FL campgrnd prices. Worth it with the amenities. 

The staff was so helpful getting us in here during a busy season. We were in a friend’s field for several days without power, water, sewer. We were a hot mess and our dog was worse. Wish we’d known about it-we’d have stayed here much longer. Only reason for leaving was reservations in another state. We’ll make reservations here for next year, soon. 

This campground has it all. If you need a pool that’s the only missing thing. Great place for kids, dogs, and us. Lots to do, wide level spots,ultra clean baths, cafe, farmers market. It has one of the biggest dog areas I’ve ever seen. 

We loved this place, such a rich experience.  Huge dog run, petting zoo, new bathhouses, fast WiFi, produce market, general store, and more.  Will definitely return.  

Excellent prices of fruit and veggies at the produce market...we got a giant box of fresh tomatoes for $10.  

Stayed 15 nights in Class A. Sites are level with many pull through sites 85 ft long. Plenty of room between sites. Lots to do if you have kids. Petting zoo, ice cream and food shack on site as well as a produce stand. WiFi wasn’t very good! Good hook ups and very good water pressure. Would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff!
