Belvidere East / Exit 170 KOA Journey

This campground is just what they had in mind when KOA was conceived.  Convenient, reasonably tidy with working utilities and this one had the added bonus of providing us with a good sized pull-through site.
The restrooms/showers could use an update but everything worked fine.
Highlights: 
Easy on/off access to the Interstate 90 while still far enough from the road to be quiet at night.
Nice folks running the place.
We got a good night's rest.

Spent the night on our way. Needed a place to shower(in the rv) so needed FHU. Safe, clean & easy in/our of I-90. They had food service to the rv, pretty trees, like an oasis, in the desert. Nothing special but right what we were looking for. 

Although it wasn’t pretty the hosts were very welcoming &  the  pizza was pretty perfect - for a couple hungry for a non microwaveable meal

Wonderful stay. Hosts are so friendly and pleasant. Would definitely stay here again. We were passing thru but they had more amenities than other KOAs we have stayed at. Thanks for the friendly conversations and all!!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, they not only had pizza but lots of other yummy choices and even had a breakfast menu and coffee.  They had places for dogs to play, laundry facilities and the bathrooms were very clean.  Thank you Belvidere for a wonderful stay.

Nice clean well taken care of.   Green grass, blow up thing for kids, friendly staff. Offer food and delivery but we did not try. Poor water pressure but good enough. 

Nice sites, amazing staff. Ordered a custom pizza right from the office and delivered to our site. What a great way to relax after a day on the road. Pretty pond and a camel as a neighbor (no joke).

Beautiful campground.  Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, kinda were!  Level  gravel sites, with trees.  Ordered pizza, they delivered plus the had of other menu items from their cafe. Loved looking at the lake and rolling green hills, very peaceful & serene. Highly recommend this CG.

This little hidden gem was such a welcome stop!  Dinner delivered to our camper and it was delicious!  Not 1 but 2 dog parks was an extra bonus!!  Super friendly staff…just a great stay. 

What a great overnight stay.  The staff is exceptionally pleasant and helpful.  They also serve dinner delivered to the RV...my wife is STILL raving about the spaghetti.  1880 Old Town in just down the road and well worth a visit.

This is the nicest place to stay. The staff is awesome and very friendly and helpful. They have an on site Cafe with a light menu and some of the best pizza ever! You'll simply call and place your order and they deliver it to your site! There's a laundry facility and a dig area as well.  There are NO train tracks nearby and no freeway noise. 1880 Town is 1/2 mile away. It was a quiet and peaceful place to stay. The sites were clean and kept up (gravel). 

The staff and ownership is top notch one of the best I've ever had to deal with. Food they cook is great. Small menu but well worth it. Everyone was friendly. They even have a on-site delivery service. Can't say enough good things about them. 

People who ran the place were fantastic, altho relatively treeless, the sites were level, wi-fi worked great and a little store for essentials.  I screwed up and left the key in our towed vehicle, totally flattened the battery by morning and the owner came along with a huge pickup and gave us a jump.  Heartily thank him for that, and fully recommend the place.

Very nice park spaces are wide with grass in between. They have a cafe that brings food to your campsite. Two fenced dog parks and nice trails to walk around. Quiet as well. 

We spent one very quiet night here—and I do mean quiet! The park was full, but away from the highway with enforced quiet hours. Excellent, full hookups and WiFi. Reasonable price. The park itself is very dense, but had great pull through spots. We’ll organized. And they had that late-check in organization. Would stay again!!

Felt like we were in a hotel!  Free delivery of food and drinks from their kitchen on site. Of course we tipped. There are No restaurants nearby. Laundry room and equipment were great. Staff and owners awesome and aimed towards customer satisfaction. No significant hwy noise. 1880 site down the st and Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo 25 min away. Check this place out if you are passing through. 

Grass and gravel with level long pull thru sites.  Good room between sites.   Big rig friendly.   Well maintained but entrance road is pretty dusty.  The on site kitchen prepares excellent food.  A few shade trees.  

Knew we wouldn’t make it all the way across SD that day so picked this KOA by the reviews here and wasn’t disappointed! Very clean and far enough offthe Interstate that there little to no road noise. Great staff and level spaces which were far enough apart for a little privacy. Not many campers during our overnight stay. Bath houses were a little dated but clean. Would highly recommend this campground!! Yes, there’s no pool. Looks like it’s long gone, but was NOT a concern for us

The staff here is fabulous!  Our Harvest Host stay was a no go with heat over 100 degrees and no hookups, we had to find an alternative.  This KOA had a fabulous pull through for us, check in was great, guided us to or spot, and offered to your door cafe orders!  Their Hawaiian pizza fabulous!  Wish we could have stayed longer at this one!  

Peaceful setting. Some sites have concrete pads. Gravel sites are more spacious. On-site kitchen cafe has food delivery to your site. General store typical of KOA campgrounds. Owners work hard to please. 

Lots of space between sites and sites were level, but there wasn't a pool there. Bring money for laundry as the closest ATM is 20 mins away. Owners were very friendly and there is a full kitchen to order food/drinks and also groceries/rv supplies if needed

Quiet and comfortable.  Just down the road from Town 1880. 

Stayed 1 night. Easy pull thru’s for a 45’ MH with a tow. 

Used this as our base to explore Badlands National Park. Friendly, accommodating staff, decent dog area and laundry. We did not use the cafe/ food delivery but it seemed like a nice perk. Little shade, but’s that the area in general. Could see prairie dogs from the campground.

This is a great little KOA basically in the middle of nowhere.   I loved visiting with Kathy while I washed clothes.  Our site was gravel with a concrete pad, very level and long enough so I didn't have to unhook.  The sunset was gorgeous over the plains.  I loved watching the bunny rabbits trying to stay away from the cat.  A momma Robin had her nest right outside my door, and another robin had built her nest on the window sill of the laundry house.  So peaceful and relaxing.  Will definitely stay again!

We stayed here in September 2020.   The sites are like most western sights in late summer, dirt and brown grass.  There was adequate space between sites.   The views of the SD plains are very nice and there is a lake adjacent to the park also.    Sites were level enough for our 45' coach.   There in only the 1880's town at this freeway exit but I would stay here for an  R&R vacation as the views are beautiful.   Maybe write your memoirs!

Shade spots by water were full when we came in after 6 p.m. We had a nice pull through at site 42 with a large grassy patch that could have fit 2 more rigs. Appreciate yard space for our dog! The spots on this side were angled nicely which made it feel more private from neighbors. 
Bought a bottle of local strawberry rhubarb wine and treated ourselves to pizza delivery. 
Being able to do laundry was super handy, too.
Relaxing stop on a long journey. 

Can't say enough about this KOA. We stopped here on our way to Montana and the owners Lisa and Robert are as nice and helpful as can be. Our jeep was dead after a 2 day drive and thank goodness for Robert, he came and helped with jumper cables and all the extras! 
Can't wait to order dinner from fantastic menu and have it delivered! We are impressed and will come back! 

Was a decent overnight stop. Down the road from an 1880 town setup. Would probably be very nice in non covid times. Roads of campground very narrow and one way. Trees situated at end of site on left which is direction you need to turn. If campground had been full would have been very difficult to leave. As it was we cut through one or two sites in front of us.

Very friendly.   They meet us after hours.  Took us to our site.  Allowed us to borrow a ladder.  Enjoyed our stay.

We needed an overnight stop to break up our run to the Badlands. This KOA turned out to be perfect spot. I little expensive for a simple FHU, but the park is very clean, grassy, with nice prairie views.  Gravel/dirt pads were perfect level, and plenty of grass space between sites. Somewhat older facilities, but bath house was spotless clean, as the laundry. Staff was very friendly and welcoming a guide will take you to your site. Noise from I-90 was negligible, so very quiet at night, and woke to birds singing in the morning.  Nice gift shop and café with sandwiches and pizza delivered to your site. The 1880 Town about a quarter mile away was closed (Covid) but looked super interesting. We would have stayed an extra day had it been open.

Ok so we have a very long rig. This park and its staff are amazing.  We have a 38 ft bumper pull and it fit beautifully in this park which is not always the case. The staff are also awesome.  So friendly and the food at the cafe was really good.  There is also a small dog park with play things for the dogs. Which they loved. 

Arrived right after heavy rains so gravel roads and campsites were pretty muddy. Friendly check in and 20% discount for showers, restrooms and most facilities closed for Covid pandemic. Get there by 7pm to enjoy pizza and pasta made to order at their onsite takeout restaurant.
Surprisingly quiet being only a half mile from I-90, but you could not hear anything.
Would definitely stay again.

A perfect place for a quick overnight before venturing into the Badlands. Nothing fancy, just a very good campground with nice people. Since we only stayed overnight we did not use any of their facilities.

Our most relaxing KOA stop to date. Just 0.5 miles north of the highway. Peaceful with plentiful amenities which we did not use since we just stopped for the night. We were parked on a level, concrete pull-through. Badlands nearby and Black Hills within touring distance. Frappes and smoothies made to order; ours were very satisfying.

Great stop , one of the nicest KOA’s I’ve seen in awhile. Very well maintained. Check out the 1880 town.

This has been our favorite campground, by far, on this trip. The playground was perfect for my kids, it’s not the most up to date plastics of a playground but my kids loved it! The sites are spacious and the pool was exactly what we needed! We only stayed the one night but I will be saving this as a favorite for the next time we head out this way! Definitely recommended! 

We were looking for 1 night stay after touring the Badlands Natl park. It was a good choice, even had their pizza and it was good. Sites were level and large. Used laundry and it was good, washers seemed new and dryers were old but only took 18min to dry, 15min might have been enough. $2.00 for wash and .25cents for 3min of dryer, not bad price. Owners were very nice & helpful, we would stay there again.

Called in last minute. No real shade trees.... 99 degree temp. Nice pool and showers. Very nice people. We had a great night sleep which was very important. Great WiFi. 

I only stayed a night, but really enjoyed it.  Very level site, 24hr laundry, store, 
and cafe on site.  Plenty of pull-thru sites.  Owners were friendly.  

This is a great location. The grounds are immaculately well kept. Freshly painted CLEAN SHOWER ROOMS. great playground and laundry.  Serve reasonably priced meals!  Great KOA!  

Location is nice and just off the highway far enough to not hear it. The facilities are clean well kept. There is a attraction called 1880 town very nearby that is a good time. There is a small store and restaurant also.
