Baraga State Park

Was extremely disappointed after making reservations and arriving at Park costing another $11 for a state park pass. So actual fee for camping was $41 for electric only bathrooms clean A 3 cause I’m mad about xtra fee

Right on Lanse Bay , highway traffic could be loud for sites along the road side sites .
Clean bathrooms, small hiking trail . Overall nice place to stay for a night. .

Well run campground.  Clean bathhouse and sites.  Looks like they are working on a path so people can walk into Barga for dinner etc.   Only 3 stars only because of road noise was non stop.  We were up against the road which didn’t help.  Otherwise a nice stop for a night.  

This is a beautiful location right on the lake with lots of trees. Some sites have  concrete pads and others are in the grass. The facilities are very well kept up. I would definitely come back here.

Helpful staff, well maintained, clean bathroom with good showers. Most sites are grass with many shaded. Road noise can be a problem and you have to cross a busy 4 lane to get to the beach. Verizon is weak but functional. That said, it's a little oasis along the highway and for $22/nite quite a bargain

The campground itself is very nice,lots of shade, nice roads, good shower house.  The two negatives are the road noise from the highway and the absence of a  bikeway or bike path  along the highway.  

We grabbed some steaks at Larry’s Market and then settled into site 17. Full hookup and our chocolate lab loved the VERY large grassy area to just run in each day! Some traffic noise but we would definitely stay there again!!

Very clean campground. Showers and bath house are very clean. Campground had ladder ball and corn hole to use for free. Only one hiking trail, so not a destination point. Bay is across the road, but no beach and not great fishing as it is shallow. We used it as a Basecamp for seeing other areas.

This park is well maintained but the sites are all on top of each other. Not what I expect from a state park. I doubt I would stay here again unless just one night passing through. 

We visited the Keweenaw peninsula from here. Sure its an hour drive up to Copper Harbor (which we should camped at), but it was nice to check out the area. 

Went to L'Ance town driving towards Scanee to find the high point. Lots of twisted dirt roads in the middle of nowhere but did find Mt. Arvin high point. Two wheel drive high clearance truck works well to get there. 

Campground is across the street from the lake, so be careful walking over. They should put up a safety bridge or crosswalk or something. Not much in the campground itself. Walk to the DRIVE IN outside restaurant to get ice cream or other typical fried food. 

Go see the Bishop Baraga statue nearby, and the Casino about a mile away. Also be sure to see waterfalls galore in the area. 

Note as with all state parks you need the RECREATION PASSPORT sticker which is $33 for out of state per year ($9 for single use) and well worth the cost to support state parks.

When it rains most sites can hold water. People park rv all which way as sites are layed out to miss trees. Most sites are shady. Pull-thru are long enough for 5th wheel.  We stayed on Labor day weekend and it was very very noisy up to 11 p.m. loud music and dogs.  Week days are quite. We stayed here in a 27 ft trailer.

Nice state park CG. Restrooms and showers were clean and grounds kept up. Wasn't crowded during the week. Road noise is present which is a negative. You can walk into Baraga, Tuesday night there was a car show at the drive in!

Great staff. Clean, well maintained grounds and bath houses. Drive in diner fun to visit at end of park. Campground is a thin strip of land directly next to highway.  Lake access across the highway. Wifi is excellent close to the office and then fades out as you move away. Sites are grass. Half of park is 30amp, half is 20amp.
