Babcock State Park

Had site 46 across the street from main campground. Yes they have WI-FI and electric but they DO NOT have water at each site. Need to fill your tank at one of 3 stations in main campground. 1 was completely surrounded by occupied sites, 1 was accessible but had a line waiting to fill up, 3rd was accessible but had to drive on grass to get close enough to fill up with my hose. As it had been raining for several days I was afraid of getting stuck. Site is gravel and barely wide enough to put my RV on.  What really ruined my night was the fact that my water pump broke and I had no water in the RV.

Beautiful Campground, sites not level. Electrical box held together with duck tape, so could use some maintenance. Dump stations in bad locations.

We had site 50 big site.  The bathrooms and showers were clean.  Sites were pretty level. Easy to get into sites

We stayed in site 47 across the street from the main campground. Spots were very long and lots of yard space for our dog. It was super quiet except for the occasional truck going down the road. The Gristmill is a few miles away. It looked like there was a hiking trail, but not positive. We thought about riding our bikes to it, but decided against it because of speeding trucks on the roadway and there wasn’t a shoulder or bike lane.   If we are ever in the area, we would stay here again. 

Lovely campsite!  Nice flat site with electricity.  We stayed 2 days to tour New River NP.  The grist mill is beautiful but only open on the weekends.  We had a mother deer with 2 fawns walk past our campsite.  Pet friendly as well.  

Brought our 29' class C, didn't have a problem with parking in our spot. Stayed at site 52, next to bathhouse. Showers were well maintained and hot. Laundry room located on back of bathhouse. Our lot was very level with a little maneuvering, and was directly next to the playground for the littles. Many biking and hiking trails to enjoy. Keep in mind that the grist mill is quite a ways away from the camping area! Not an issue if you're using a TT, have bikes, or are hauling a toad. 

Dont go there with any more than a pop-up or small camper! My 24' camper was almost stuck there forever! Wish I would have known, had to leave cause the site they gave me was impossible to use with my camper.

This is a lovely state park campground. Stayed in site 47 on the loop across the street from the main area with bathhouse and playground. No cell service. Wifi is pretty good. Don’t miss Grist Mill. Rules state no alcohol but I say what you do quietly on your own site or in your own camper is your business. 

We stayed 2 nights. One was on site 44 and the 2nd was on 42. Electric only. Long story why we did this but we added an extra day a few days before arrival and there wasn’t much of a choice. Site 44 has morning shade but other than that its in sun. Its extremely close to 43. Not level side to side. Gravel pad was long. Verizon cell service was zero lol Free wifi worked great! Site 42 was BEAUTIFUL. It was full shade. Much more private. You felt tucked into the woods. Long gravel pad. Not much better on level side to side. These sites are in its own loop from main camping group. It was more quiet when we stayed even with each site booked. The bathhouse is hike to get to from these sites but is doable. There is no water fill station on this side either but dump station is. The park itself has fantastic hiking trails! Recommend the Manns Creek Gorge. 4 miles if you take the road back to camp for a loop hike. There are a few overlooks and roads to drive. Its not far from Fayette Station road which is a must if you want yo see New Rover Gorge Bridge! Will post pictures above. We have a 24BHS North Trail. 

We spent a night here and it was a nice little campground and very affordable. The lots were level and  come with a fire ring and picnic table. Hookups were electric only with a dump station and water fill station nearby. Restrooms were clean and had hot showers. There was a nice playground for the kids in the middle of the campground. We got there on opening day for the season and there were 7-8 other campers there. I'm sure it is busy in the summer. The lake and grist mill were beautiful and there are lots of hiking trails throughout the park. 

Great weekend getaway with family. Clean facilities. Great hiking trails and scenic view.
